Turns 1-20

The next location will focus on Warriors for a while so should be able to give us at least some protection.

Is there a bit of common wisdom we should utilize for city defese against raging barbs? Do we need two MP's per city? Do we bunch up with a quick reaction force? What is the best approach? I don't want to loose gold/improvments to barbs either.

Normally I only ever take any particular precautions around AA/MA era change when barbs multiply. I do not think it mandates any special concerns at this stage of the game. Having a single warrior in each location on our perimeter and a few "mobile defense" units capable of reacting via a rudimentary road network should be enough for som etime.

I'm with Wotan. Barbs tend to be manageable until the uprising.

new turn, got it and am playing

Ok nothing major settler and warrior moved. Failed to get the screen dump of the map but nothing really exciting on it but at least here is the most important pic.

woot  now just to start spamming settlers faster than anyone.

for the early settler to pay off... it has to generate one settler, but warriors and workers first

we just finished our turn 15

nice to know that we got that settler first...maybe those faster growing Civs had wheat and missing shields to produce a settler on time?

and I agree with Wotan on barb control measures

got the turn and am playing

Settler now arrived at site. Two other teams also have second settlers now.

We are now a two town empire! Have dot marked a tile I see as interesting for next town. At least to start a discussion about it since it is some time until we actually have the next settler. On turns Hef's palace do not require the sugar Larry's resort can use it for max gold/beakers.

I'm not even sure it's a question that dot is the next town. Unless the spot to its north or NE reveal other goodies it seems to be it.
Consider, there's no other river coastal spots near the core. We need to get a boat out for contacts so it makes considerable sense to me.

Without a doubt a great spot. As Whomp said, if there are bigger better boni to the N-NE, it might be another story - so the spots S and SW-SW from your dot would be considerable.
But it would take quite much to beat that spot.

Will the next warrior head west across the mountains or go up to fortify some happy juice?

I am starting to get some concerns for our Workers safety, he will soon move and chop the two forests on the current cultural border. Any barb coming and our settler factory is disrupted. So we do need one Warrior, preferably the first from Flynt to move there and assist in protecting the Worker. The current Warrior will eventually make his way north almong the perimeter too but i would suggest waiting to send a western "scout" until the second warrior is built.

We have never discussed city density and that might also affect placement of city two. Red dot suggest a rather low density spread.

I agree with Wotan about the warrior situation. I feel uneasy seeing our core so 'free' of military. Let's use the next warrior for some worker protection, send #3 out to the west and use the next few for added protection and MP.

As for city placements, the CxxC placement seems to be pretty good for the core

Wotan's city site looks good, barring new and shocking info. I would like to propose a name for the thrid city, Marshall. This would honor of J. Howard Marshall, the late Anna Nichole Smith's late husband.

Given the theme our cities are taking I think that an 89 year old billionaire who marries a 26 year old Playmate must have surely done so for love. Let's try to get that city planted by Valentine's Day

Sorry, it is the most widely covered story here in the States, it is impossible to escape from it.

I, too think that we need more warriors for MP and scouting. Getting them sooner may let us wack a few barbs before the floodgates are opened to gain some experience.

I understand that she was an organ doner ... she donated her implants to the "Raise the Titanic Society."

Nothing spectacular. No Barbs sighted yet, keep your fingers crossed they will remain so until our first Warrior has reached the Worker. 8 turns or so, a bit much maybe but we should at least hope we can stay out of harms way until then.
This is just to let you have something to watch... ;)

So Donsigs council are the only ones that haven't built a settler.
