Turns 21-40

at least the horse wouldn't be able to climb the hill and go down in 1 turn, but regardless, we would lose the settler a turn later. I think in future, we should really cover our settlers...

Before starting to worry too much about all those barbarian horsemen could we think a bit about the odds of someone actually having HBR now? Unless there is a team with it no barb horsemen are possible.

And we are really covering our Settlers, as long as there is none with HBR... ;) No Settler has yet to move next to a foggy tile so it seems a bit alarmist in my opinion to worry about ghosts. :D

I was going to say the same thing on horsemen.

Let's not worry about anyone getting HBR this fast. It's not like we had the Japanese in this game.

I would like warriors to uncover space before our settlers land. From what I can tell Wotan's taken care of that with our two western warriors and new one's being produced this turn iirc.

The Granary cost 1 gpt, that is not something we can change so eventually (in a couple of turns time) we need to start generating gold by running tax 10%. That is the simple answer or is there something I am missing here?

Everything went according to plan but the fact that the intended hill was a bit poor in resources. Only 5 grassland. :( I have indicated two alernatives i see as interesting, either found in the dot (A) and get a good location and good coverage after having placed the supporting locations indicated. Or move to hill NW (B) of the initially planned site for a very strong production town? A town on the plains NE of the GH could also be an alternative in the not so distant future?
With the two new Warriors we are suddenly in the lead militarily. ;)

I would suggest settling on dot A since that would give that city 6 hills, & 5 unused grass + 1 lake. That should be enough for any pre-hospital production powerhouse.

Also with 6 hills and 2 mountains in the city's radius, we're more likely to get iron and coal in there. Although Rik probably whittled that chance down to 0% by placement of resources. :(

I actually thought we wanted to settle at A originally anyway...I would settle there

"A" for me too.

should this new city start a palace pre-build for the great library? is that still an option?

I think we'll want 20 MW's over TGL. We can follow the tech pace anyways, and the early attention is most undesired. We might want to avoid education and keep a capture option open, though.

Yep. If last game is any indication the pace will be pretty fast with humans trading. I'd go pyramids before any other ancient age wonder.

The Worker improving tiles for Hef's will finish the road next turn. He could move to the BG SE and road it but that would only give 1/2 gpt since Hef's only use the tile while at size 4. Alternative is improving towards New Town (What name should we use? A couple of ideas has been posted but any decision?) It takes 20 turns until that town is using more than 2 tiles so a suggestion would be to start by irrigating the plains, road it, move to BG and road that and then move onto the Incense hill and road that. Total time required would be 19 turns to connect the lux, 15 if we do not irrigate the plains. Thoughts? Not having a lux will soon cost a lot in entertainment so it should at least be discussed.

Martha should make a worker and Flint too after the curragh.

I think you can irrigate the plains first (or do you intend to let the new town work the lake for high commerce?). 4 turns difference to connect the lux should be fine

yes MS worker due in 5. I think that roading the plains and then moving on would be acceptable since we really shouldn't be wasting a worker move when we move back there.

those silks will be in our vicinity soon as well.

Jungle provides the great diversity of life that the Rik has given to us for our enjoyment.

but one day it will need to burn

Settling spot A would be my choice. And I think the 19 turn plan for the worker near Hef is good too. The incense will be nice, the Grotto has been a little funky lately.
