One of these 1-tilers has access to 3 land tiles, among them a plain cow. This could be a useful 1-tiler, and I've never built that

There are coastal tiles at the other side of another strip of ocean! Lemming is in for another little hazard next turn!
Have changed LF to a GLH prebuild now. Can be changed next turn and produce a Settler but it is the final turn before reaching 30 shields so a decision is urgently needed if we are not going to pursue the GLH.
Li-Lo is still on a GW prebuild are we seriously going to commit 2 productive towns to GWs? Else a Barracks or a Library is the probable alternatives.
A Settler is ready to found a town on the red dot if we opt for a wider pattern or on the Grassland NW if we do for the two blue dots in the area? The tight dotmap will still allow more than half the locations to grow to size 6 so it is not a question of not allowing any production.
Next Settler ready next turn. Where to? NW near Li-Lo? Or north coast to claim tiles?
Silk connected!

let's just hope that the lemming survives yet another suicide run, would be terricific

I think the curragh was meant to suicide (runs). We know all we can thus far, so let's have at it.

Btw it also makes a stronger case for GLH if our only exit is not safe for galleys.

Two suicide stints is one too many and a very strong reason why the GLH is a definite idea to pursue. If we mine the two remaining plains at LF we should be able to get it to at least 9spt maybe 10? Depends on corruption I guess.

:aargh:

Another suicide run?

While captain Hazelwood is preparing for his trip...(:run:  :please:  )
...I'd like to say that I think the GLH makes a lot of sense now given the "not quite land"ing strip that seperates us from other Islands.

And I think that one great wonder should be sufficient for now.

So do we go Barracks or Library in Li-Lo? Horse will be connected in a few turns.

We know (quite nearly) for a fact that we are alone and stranded in a GLH/Astronomy world. That makes barracks and military a second tier priority to me. If we do net GLH we could put forth an invasive force, but until then, libs and markets will do a lot more for us.

I agree w/ Boern's logic, go for library. After all, the pen is mightier than the sword (although the sword can speak louder and stronger at any given moment).

Yep there's only a few dark spots left uncovered on our coast so it seems we're truly alone for a long time. It seem Rik has a late MA/IA game for us.

Farmer's science gambit.

Guys, we have almost made contact!!!! We found a border belonging to SABER!
Very cluttered map this time. If the next turn arrives within the next 16-18 hrs I can play it but after that I will be "locked up" at a conference without internet access. Starting tomorrow morning and until sunday evening I will be out of the loop so someone else need to play the turns. There are a few MM issues. The most important being the use of a forest west og Hef's. On turns Hef is growing it use the forest for growth and it need the 2 shields so Li-Lo has to give it up and work the incense those turns. I have started to mine the BG NE of it so this will soon be a non-issue and one less risk of disrupting the factory but until that mine is finished please be observant about the need to change who works the forest every turn... It will be Li-Lo working it when the turn is next opened to be played but it must be unused when the turn is exited so Hef can use it on growth. Make sure this is not missed, please!!!
One Settler is in position to found a town SW of the mountain. One Settler has crossed the river and is heading towards the red dot on a coastal plains. Two Warriors (one on mountain, one west of the route) should move to help clear the way.
One Warrior to Trump to act as MP when Trump grows to size 2. Prebuild in place to get us our first Galley. When it grow to size two it can work two forests for 2 net shields.
Curragh should go south again and determine if there are any coastals nearby at the south tip of our island.
Workers will be available to move in position to connect both horse and Sugar Shack next turn.
Map Making in 2. What next?
LF will run at 4 fpt for 5 turns. working the mined plains or at 5 fpt for 4 turns working the irrigated plains.

If lemming survives we might have to open up the foreign office for buisness :)

Also i agree with Vind that there are probably more landing strips around our island

If Lemming does not survive I guess we should send the other Curragh in it's wake hoping it will make it across.

let's hope lemming survives this run.

As for the turnplayers, I can play when the Americans are sleeping. Maybe BeF can take the other timeslots? Thanks Wotan for the detailed instructions, esp our settler farm :goodjob:

If we survive the suicide run and make contact, what is the procedure to do for diplomatic negotiations? Never done that before, so what is exactly happening?

Do we have a European to play while Wotan isn't around?

I read through the trade instructions by whomp, I think I am too stupid but it is a little cryptic I have to say  :hammer2:

might I suggest that we move 2 north next turn (assuming survival) and then go around their continent counter-clockwise. Then it will give the impression that we came from the west instead of the SW.

I could also play some turns. I'm no good at diplo so someone else (read Whomp) will have to head that up. I'm pretty good at the MM issues and since we are now moved in to our new house, there's really no issues of why I can't play in a timely manner.
