Hi, i just bought the civilizations 3 complete game. I was playing and got addicted until it said i am out of turns and the game was over. I went into the setting and the longest it lets me play is 1000 turns i i run those out quick. I like to make my games last long, but it ends before i can even attack a bot. I play under the New Game or Quickstart tab.

540 turns in the standard amount of turns (ending in 2050 AD). 1000 turns is the maximum amount allowed, sorry.

I never tried this but you could try changing the number of years covered in 1 turn in the early part of the game by editing the main .biq file where the game .exe is, just make sure you make a copy first before you try it.

A lot of us stretch those 540 turns (or less!) over many hours of playing. I usually spend a week or more playing a game, a few hours at a time.

where do i find those files and what do i change the umbers to?

When you start a Conquests game, there should be a button called 'Game Limits'. Click on that, and find the entry for 'Turns'. The default value is 540. Change it from that to any number between 1 and 1000.

what i mean is didn't Padma say he/she edited a game folder to make the game longer?

Actually, you misunderstood him. He means that by his style of play the 540 turns last days, weeks, or longer. More civs, bigger maps, micromanaging....all that can make a game go that much longer, but still within the 540 turn limit.

Actually, I usually play standard size maps, standard number of Civs. But I do think about each turn, and micromanage my Workers/Towns to at least *some* degree. Since I can rarely play more than about 10 hrs a week, it can take me a couple of weeks to finish a game. Most games are finished within 30 hrs of actual play time.
