Is there any game manual or tutorial that can ease the learning curve for this mod? I have to admit, I am really having difficulty wrapping my mind around the prehistoric portion. I am playing a couple of games (different computers, have to let the wife use the desktop sometimes :D). So, I have made it to sedentary in one,and in both I eliminated another civ before 8000 BC, but it feels like I am doing something wrong, or at least, not right when I in the prehistoric eras.

There is a stickied thread here in this forum, the v37 Player's Guide. it attempts to be a good start towards exactly what you're looking for, defining what makes C2C different from BtS in its rules and systems. There's lots more to learn beyond that major 'game manual' and those are mostly to be found in the Tips and Tricks sub-forum.

With that info, you should have lots to look into. Thanks for asking!

I would also suggest looking at a few youtube Let's Plays of c2c. They're somehwat out of date, but still useful as a learning tool.

Thanks, I guess I used the wrong string to search. I was asking for the game manual instead of guide. Sometimes when something is right in front of you, you don't see it. :o

I'm glad you asked for it though. Feel free to request any info, anytime. If we can answer it we will, even if just to guide you to where the answers are.

The bane of coding. A single ; { } [ or ] out of place can ruin EVERYTHING. You have no idea how often and how hard it is pre-compilers like the Suites from Microsoft it was to deal with those issues.

Actually I do. I spent a year in college before joining the army. I had to learn fortran for engineering. The university of Conn had one of the first IBMs that used vacuum tubes and took up most of a room that was air conditioned to keep its temperature down.
I loaded my program from cards and waited for the solution. It never came, seem I put the computer into a non-ending loop. You couldn't just shut down the computer to reboot. It had to stay off long enough for the vacuum tubes to cool down, Since the university sold time on the computer to major businesses in the area, downtime cost them money. Needless to say, my prof and the university were not happy. :D

An infinite loop is about the easiest thing to program (intentionally and unintentionally.) When I was in grade school we had an Apple II and we used to PO the teacher by telling it to repeatedly display a hard return, which made it appear that the computer was off because you would quickly lose the prompt until you hit escape to break the running of the program.

I now have a laptop that can take this mod and I have been playing the most upgraded patched v37 available (love it!!) and I have a request along this line.

PLEASE, PLEASE, Please take the time, and do a serious update to the Sevopedea for this game, with all of the new things, like the concepts of active promotions (the Blue and Red Shield icons) and how they work in respect to just fortifying (like lying in wait, etc) for both Animals and people. I go and look though it and have found a lot of stuff not in there.

Our Modder who took care of the Sevopedia is no longer with us on any regular basis, sooo......It may take awhile. Sorry.

Making a concept page is almost trivial. However you need someone who understands the mechanism to write it. It needs to be short enough to read in the pedia (although there is no real limit so in theory we could put the sum of all human knowledge in one page it would just be useless).
