Two units in the same tile - is this a bug?

I'm not sure how this turned into a discussion of how movement works and that since movement works a certain way, this isn't a bug.

For anyone who says this isn't a bug, start a new game or load an existing one. Get your self into a war at your earliest convenience. Keep at least two melee units (not mobile) near eachother. Three or four would be better. Move these units in such a way that one is in front and the others are behind. Find an enemy unit and move your front unit right next to that enemy unit. If you did this correctly, there should be three units in a lineNow take one of your other units, and try to attack the enemy unit. The game will not let you. Why? Because you can't attack by going thru a tile that you already have a unit in.

If you still don't understand what is being said or think that this isn't a bug, load the save game attached to the post. Try to attack the Aztec Spearman. If the topic if this post isn't a bug, then the Warrior should move into the city (which already has a Warrior in it) and then attack the Spearman from the city tile. I can already tell you it won't do that. It'll spend its two movement points moving thru the city to an empty tile right next to the Spearman.

This is how combat with 1UPT is supposed to work. If you are able to melee attack thru a tile that you already have a different unit in, then it is a bug.

NOTE: Ranged combat does not apply to this when you have a ranged unit in a city and then build another ranged unit in the city. Both units can attack from the city on the same turn and then one of them will be forced out at the end of your turn. I think this is a bug but it is one that happens every time.

[EDIT]

Ellye, do you have a save from before this bug occured? If so, can you please post it?

I might have a save close to that turn, I'll see when I get home.
I surely have screenshots, though. I'll post them later.
