Ubisoft dumps it's DRM.

Here is an example of how Steam can actually help fight some of the worst types of DRM.

I wonder if that means the DRM will get removed from previous games like Settlers 7 and Assassin's Creed 2. I wanna play the latter but haven't bought it yet... If this DRM is still in it, I won't buy it until it's like... rental price. At best.

I got AC2...used....for PS3. I have Settlers 7 (on steam, mind you) and their DRM annoys the heck out of me.

I can't say i'm a fan of the activation system, but Ubi's DRM is worse than the old Starforce system.

Play Assassin's Creed 2 on console if you have the option.

Now if they strip the DRM from that newest Settlers game, I'll be happy. :)

Yeah they are still going to use their UbiDRM on other games.

Sides its not like it wasn't cracked anyways, I went over to a friend's once to find him playing Assass Creed 2 pirated, but then after a few days AVAST! decided the asscrack was a virus and stopped it :p This is why I don't pirate games, still need to borrow a console, a TV and Assass Creed II at some point.

Hell hath no fury like pissed off PC gamers.

/cheer.

Not to be picky, but the line is actually "Heaven has no rage like love to hatred turned/ Nor hell a fury like a woman scorned" There is no "Hell hath" business.

Anyway, that DRM was pretty bull.

Yeah well slang changes man, especially when its based off a translation of a translation of a close to 2000 year old book.

But I do appreciate knowing what the actual line is, thanks!

I pirated games when I was a kid who could not afford or obtain these games from my parents. I would not have played these games anyway, the companies were not going to make money off me. Now that I'm an adult, I don't understand why I would bother pirating, I'd rather give some money to the industry and not have to bother with the hunt for cracks and working copies of games.

My guess is that piracy is highly overrated in terms of its impact on the gaming industry. I am almost convinced that the people getting pirated games would not be customers anyway. They would just not play the games.

GOOD NEWS EVERYONE! :goodjob:

But you have to have internet to activate. Pisses off other gamers.
