I'm pretty sure cities have to be 4 tiles away from each other...am I missing something or is this a bug?

The rule is null when the cities are on different landmasses.

I think I saw someone post this awhile ago... the explanation had something to do with being on different continents, so it's okay. Sucks though, and it shouldn't work like that. ATTACK!

Of the cities are on different landmasses, the four-hex rule don't apply.

in Soviet Russia you can build a city next to another.

Spoiler :
so so sorry, I couldn't restrain myself from posting this :crazyeye::D

This happened to me in every single game at least 3 times since G&Ks. Not really uncommon. Block your 1 tile islands or the AI will settle it. Even if it is just snow and ice without any sea resource!

There is no greater joy than using artillery on a city from the safety of your city :)

I would go to war...if I wasn't 15 techs behind them. :(

It sucks because I had a landmark on that island thinking I would expand to that later (i would have bought the tile, but I'm Venice so I can't).

Uhh...things just got a bit more scary.

It looks like you have a bit of a missile crisis on your hands with Russia there. May I suggest a bit of Brinksmanship? It worked for JFK.

Buahahahahahahahahahaha

Sorry m8 couldn't resist I am not laughing at you, it was spontaneous.
Is this from Gods and Kings or BNW? If its on BNW I am glad (?) Cathy is her old self. She was too friendly to me recently and I though Id call a doctor.

Pretty impressive move for an AI though. From the map I can see that she has firing range to your entire core. And that gentlemen is why you need to pick the resettlement tenet in Order. Instant Cuba....I mean nuclear bases!
