From: His Illustriousness, Prime Minister Farid al-Qafar of Iran
To: Chancellor Gothart von Hotzendorf

It is with deepest regret that I must inform you that I will be missing the funeral ceremonies of Germany's late Chancellor von Hindenburg. Truly he was a great man, and it is a great tragedy indeed for Germany and the world to have lost such a leader. Iran knows the Germans to be a fair and just people and thank them and their leader for their efforts in attempting to keep the world safe from the evils of imperialistic conquest. Unfortunately this is a battle which has no end, and we must remain vigilant to the last; the situation in Africa is becoming more and more tense, and we must keep our guard up for whatever may occur.

To: King Jan van Riebeeck I of Britan

Iran would be happy to establish more formal diplomatic relations with Great Britain. Clearly if we are to look for a force to maintain peace and prosperity in the great Indian Ocean, it is to Britain that we must look; and though we regret the debacle of your (ex-) minister of foreign affairs and his plans of conquest, we look forward to your partnership in keeping the seas free from the turmoil of foreign war.

REVOLUTION! Van Riebeeck arrested!

From The London Times, Sunday, 26 May 2002-05-26
By Peter Quince

A bloodless revolution in Britain has resulted in the end of the British Monarchy. Yesterday the British Police and Civil Forces, under command of Prime Minister Hjalmar Mitchell, stormed Winsor Castle and arrested King Van Riebeeck. The rest of the Royal Family were stripped of their titles and escorted from the palace.

Adressing the nation shortly afterwards, Mitchell declared himself president of the Republic of Britain, ending one of the world’s oldest monarchies. Mitchell appointed Herbert Kitchener as his vice-president and Sir Winston Churchill as his Minister of Foreign Affairs.

“I vow to restore the respect the British government had before Van Riebeeck succeeded to the throne”, Mitchell said. The new president also made it clear that Britain has CANCELED its planned “South African campaign” and that Britain will never attack South Africa.

Mitchell will announce the rest of his cabinet ministers on Friday. He said that the new government will consist of a President and Vice-president with a Cabinet and Parliament, as well as a House of Representitives, representing the different provinces.

Mitchell plans an emergency state visit to Egypt, to try to restore peace between the two nations. Minister Churchill will be sent to South Africa to apologise to the South African peo

To president Mitchell of Great Britain

The Russian people welcome you, the newest addition to the world's democratic leaders!
Although we were willing to get along with the old leader also, it warms my heart that that slightly volatile personwho was king van Riebeeck has been exchanged for someone far more sensible.
Anyway, we're overjoyed that the British revolution was so much more clean and proper than our own one was, way back when...
We extend to you the hand of friendship and peace.

Premier Nicolay Alexandrovich Romanov

P.s: The Russian foreign mission wishes to establish an embassy in your capital ASAP. In return you will, of course, be allowed to establish an embassy with us as well.

Dear friend and counterpart

I have made available for you an large area in the City of Westminster (London) where you may establish an embassy.

Great Britain appreciates Russia's great military skill and would like you to comment on our recent military purchases and deployments.

Great Britain looks forward to good relationship with Russia.

Greetings
President Mitchell

Since the Brazilian empire ended, the Brazilian people have always been anti monarchistic and pro-democratic.So we welcome the peaceful revolution in Great Britain and hope everything will stay calm.I am glad the powerful British empire has once again a powerful and wise leader.I´am convinced only the foreign secretary of the former King and he himself was responsible for the planned attacks on SOuth Africa and we are pleased the crisis has been settled.I once offered the British provisional government a MPP and I would be glad to sign one with you.Due to our industrialization program we are planning a new capital of Brasilia.I will reserve a building very close to my new palace for the British embassy

Regards and best Wishes,

Gustavo Bergero

I was shocked and deeply saddened, when I heard of von Hindenburg death just after my return.Unfortunately,I could not take part in the funeral but I bring my condolences to you and the German People.Although I had my problems with your predecessor in the Greek crisis, I know Germany and the world have lost a great man,who preserved Germany from the Chaos taking place in Greece or Africa.
I hope you stay as peaceful as him and solve the Dutch crisis.Once more I assure you the full political and diplomatic support of Brazil to Germany, the country of my ancestors.

Yours,

Gustavo Bergero

Japan is of course very willing to sign a peace treaty with your nation and looks forward to an era of cooperation between our people. We will be sending ambassador Hoshi and his staff to London and invite you to establish an embassy in Tokyo. Furthermore you should know that if you need naval support in FarAsia my SouthChineseFleet would be glad to assist your country.
Respectfully, Emperor Kwan-Sn

OOC: I'm assuming that all the established countries already have embassies with eachother.

To Mitchell, president of Great Britain

I offer to you, just as I offered your predecessor, premises very close to the Kreml.
As for the observers, it's not quite Russian policy to give away military secrets, but we may be able to send some military advisors to help kick-start your waning army, in exchange for, perhaps, naval advice from the greatest sea-faring nation in the world?
We too look forward to a very good diplomatic relationship with the people of Great Britain. May the bonds grow stronger in time.

Right, good work everyone, I've had updates from all except Kushanis(who I've had the first order from) and Dazer(who I haven't even had the first 500 from!). They both have till next buying date(next Sat/Sun) to reply in this topic or PM me or I will delete them from the playlist, and their country will become a neutral.

If you are going away, please tell me and PM me your orders if you will be away for a buying/ordering day.

I have updated the front page, and not needed to update the map as there has been no battles.

Remember, on Wednesday you can change orders, but attacks ordered there must have been posted on this thread before Tuesday night, or they will be ignored and instead implemented on the turn after(the next week).

This means you can order attacks on Sat/Sun with your new troops, providing you have posted here that you intend to by Friday night, and can order attacks on Wednesdays, so long as it is posted here by Tuesday night.

Subj: Netherlands acceptance

Monsieur le president, the German Reichstag has voted for the acceptance of your Netherlands proposal (1/2=France, 3/4/5/6=Independent) with the advent of Egyptian and South African aggression. German code breakers have come to the realization that a coordinated attack by the South African and Egyptian alliance is due on our colonies, and therefore we propose action to defend ourselves together by moving on past the Netherlands. We would not however want the Netherlands to become a French dependency and also do not want you to sign a Multual Protection Pact with them as you had proposed.
We hope you will accept because of the urgent state in Africa. I would advise we both commit a large part of our armies for our defence.

Okay, I rolled a 1.

It was his own plan, wasn't it? He wouldn't ask you to agree only to refuse it himself. (butting in where I have no business)...

Well, his objectives may have changed by now. He could be more interested in war or think he can milk more out of me because of the urgency in South Africa...

At least, that's what I would do :D.

That roll stands lol, so Netherlands stays with France :D ! Unless France decide to hand it over  :p
