In addition to the formation of a possible League of Nations, Britain still wishes to form the European Alliance. So far only Sweden and Britian are member states. It is vital that all European countries respond and say whether or not they will be joining the European Alliance

Britain wishes to make it clear that you have NO right to spy on the British homeland or colonies. You also have NO right to interfere in domestic matters, like the arrest of the terrorist, Gandhi! If you make any such secret events public again without discussing it with me, Britain WILL react.

I'm glad to see you'll take the peaceful way out.

The AA will not invade the British Colonies, assuming the British likewise do not invade ours.

Assuming Sweden rejects the treaty, it will be modified untill a peaceful resolution is accepted.

We also are encouraged by your signing into the league of nations, and we also accept the Headquarters to be Moscow, Russia, assuming she also accepts.

You are arrogant fools to distance yourselves from the country's which provided most of your inhabitants and foundations in the first place!
I will hear no more of this "free elections from the colonial oppressors" poppycock!
If thou wish to show that thou are free and democratic, then I suggest that America sets up a large Indian Nation and frees the Carribean and MezoAmerican nations.
I further suggest that Canada frees Quebec, who are, I have heard, not too happy about being ruled by English-speakers, and lets the Eskimos rule their own country (read: All of Northern Canada, including Greenland).
Brazil, on their part, should set up a free country for the descendants of the Inca, and several other nations for the other Indian tribes, not to mention one for the Spanish-speaking peoples of South America, who, after all, are just as numerous as the portugese!
Now don't come here and tell me " This is preposterous! These areas are connected to the centre of our nation and so must love our rule! " The areas under Britain are no more unhappy or illegitimate parts of Britain than the areas under you, just because they happen to be in separate parts of the world, and not just contained within the same blob of colour!
Dare I remind you that you, just as Britain, Germany, and I, have crushed movements that have committed heinous acts towards you in the misguided belief that this will bring about independence? I do not think this witnesses of an all-embracing love for the governments in Washington, Ottawa, and Brasilia, do you?
Enough with this foolishness! You should back down and leave Swedish South America alone, before your arrogance and bald-faced insolence towards the old countries create even more enemies for you to deal with!

Yours Furiously and Indignantly
Premier Romanov

To the world
After my unpleasant outburst over the bickering between peoples that is being spear-headed by the AA, Britain and Sweden, not to mention my close friend, Germany, I wish to make it perfectly clear that it would be an honour and a pleasure to precide over a council that can help prevent such ludicrousy occuring again.
The HQ of the League of Nations will, provided the rest of the world agrees, be set up in Neutral and Sovereign (that is, "independent", like the UN building) territory set aside particularly for the purpose outside Moscow.

The spanish- and native speakers have the same rights as every Portuguese speaker here in Brazil. In my 15 men cabinet there are 5 spanish speakers and 2 Indians. How many non-russians do you have in your cabinet, huh?I demand referndums are hold in all parts with non-Russian majorities.People who are still oppressing religious freedom of Muslims do not have any right to accuse other nations of being oppressve.

To:World

For Brazil the League of Nations treaty is signed. But the capital of such a brutal nation can not be the right place.I propose Paris or Beijing.

The Trinity Alliance will join the League of Nations, as will South Africa.

Prince Alexander has already made an announcement that:

"Any foreign nation who sees fit to invade Europe would be met with the full force of the Trinity Alliance."

The media are unsure whether this is a reaction to the American Alliance's threat to occupy Britain, or a sign that the Trinity Alliance would join a European Alliance.

Combat resolution won't be until Monday night, so you have until then to make your buys and give your orders. Up until that time, orders can also be changed, so if this peace treaty comes to something, just send new orders.

If anyone can't remember their military deployments, PM me and I will PM them to you.

Nemesis

Prince Alexander reminds everyone that the Olympic Games are to be held soon[OOC isn't it easy to see he's become my leader figure for the neutral nations?! :p ] in New York.

Also, he warns that there is no need for referendums, as it was these that drew the borders at the end of the 100 Years War.

And he dislikes the tone that the American Alliance uses against European countries, as if they are the masters of the world.

He says:

"Maybe they should get off their high horses and realise they have more chance of being beamed up by Scotty than getting an invasion force into Europe, as it would have to go through the huge naval force of the Trinity Alliance! I find their speeches laughable, and their threats empty. But I must be willing to forget this. Also, I propose if Moscow cannot be seen as a fair meeting place for the League of Nations, then I propose the small island of Ibiza to become an independent nation defended by the Trinity Alliance that can be the HQ of the League of Nations. All Ibiza's citizens(all 78 of them as tourism hasn't really taken off yet) will be moved to their bigger neighbour, Majorca where they will be moved into luxury apartments."

Also, President Shaka of South Africa had this to say:

"South Africa withdraws from all wars to prevent further loss of life. We will join the League of Nations, and suggest that Madagascar could be given up by South Africa and the French to become an international community where the League of Nations could sit."

"Brazil agrees to the Trinity alliance proposal of Ibiza being HQ of the League of nations because of the better infrastructure around. But not only TA forces should defend it,but forces from all member states.
But we would like to remind Prince Alexander these referendums took place almost 20 years ago.We should check whether the people made the right decisions.Furthermore we all know there were forged votes. We all know the many ethnics of Russia would never have voted to be ruled by Moscow, voluntarily, but by their Muslim fellows in Cairo and Teheran or their Protestant fellows in Stockholm and Berlin."

TO BRAZIL
FROM PRINCE ALEXANDER

I agree that Ibiza is a good spot, it has plenty of things for everyone to do there(nightclubs etc are being built) and I agree that all nation's troops should defend it. What I meant is that the Trinity Alliance swear to always keep it independent, and the naval arm will stop any pirates etc.

I propose that 5 regiments of infantry are sent from every nation that joins the League of Nations to guard Ibiza. This force can also act as the League of Nations peacekeepers. With 16 nations making up the world, that would be 80 regiments of infantry, a deadly force. Also perhaps each nation providing two fighter wings and one bomber wing, creating an air force of 8 bomber wings and 16 fighter wings. These forces would add up to 100 gold per nation, and make the League a force to be reckoned with, not ignored. This is only an idea, no one actually has to go along with it if they don't want, or just provide the infantry."

Canada completly agrees with Greece's suggestion of an international peacekeeping force, albeit expensive, it would allow the LoN to monitor, and assist nations which require it.

Canada will contibute $400,000 (40 Gold) to the project with more depending on other nations contributions.

To:Prince Alexander

I agree, the new LoN will need a strong force to make it an effective organization;I would be willing to send the proposed troops;a LoN navy should be established as well.
But before this war should be ended. The AA is willing to make peace with the current front line.Crimes against Swedish Americans will be strongly punished;everyone, who wants is allowed to leave.A first mission of the LoN could be to oversee a referendum in Swedish America.
Obviously Britain is out for war.But if the TA uses its navy to block British miltary transports this war could be halted until Sweden makes a statement to the proposed referendum [OOC:Where is IceEye?OOC]

NEW YORK POST - LATE EDITION

PRESIDENT CAIN IMPEACHED BY HOUSE, SENATE VOTES TONIGHT!

Washington, DC - President James Cain was impeached by the House of Representatives today by a vote of 401 to 125. The Senate will next hear the case and vote on his conviction tonight. If it is affirmative, and it appears it will be, President Cain will be the first U.S. President removed from power.

The rise and fall of the Cain presidency can be traced to one event - the Swedish War. The speechs of the President raised resentment in nearly every governemnt and nation in Europe. The entry of this nation into war with Sweden brought a surge of popularity to the President...until the casualty figures were reported. Hundreds of thousands of Americans died in the South American jungle, as many as 300,000, though this number has not been confirmed. When the President tried to conceal these figures from both the public and Congress, he had sealed his own fate. The nations of Europe all lined up against him, and the nation was wracked with riots unprecedented in its' history. His party, the most amazing success story in American politics, evaporated overnight. His vice president, Henry Jackson, has abandoned him. The felony charges, including perjury and obstruction of justice were handed down just three days ago, and now President James Cain, a man who seemed to havethe world in the palm of his hand, is about to be history.

Radio Address, June 19, 1938, 11:38 pm

"By a vote of 98 to 28, the Senate has spoken. Mr. Cain, we find you guilty as charged and hereby strip you of your title immediately. Bailiffs, take him into custody. Vice President Hemry Jackson, are you present?"
"Yes Mr. Speaker"
"Come forward and take the oath of office."

To: Prince Alexander
Fr: President Jackson

Prince, the United States would support a League of Nations wholeheartedly, and agrees with the choice of Ibiza. The matter of sending troops is perhaps a tricky one, as I wish to bring all American troops currently abroad home, but I'm sure this detail is minor.

To: European Alliance, Sweden, Great Britain
Fr: USA

Gentlemen, the United States wishes for peace, and has a proposal which might be acceptable to all parties involved.

1. A plebiscite is to be held in all of Swedish South America to determine what course that land wants to take - either independence, reunion with Sweden, or admission into any of the other American states. This plebiscite will be guaranteed fair by representatives of the League of Nations.

2. At the terms of the cease fire, all troops will withdraw to pre-war borders and observe a 20 mile demilitarized zonenorth and south of the line. This too will be guaranteed by League of Nations inspectors, or representatives of the EA and AA.

3. Once the plebiscite is held, any action by any nation to alter the result, by coercion or force, will be regarded as an international act of aggression.

The new Administration wishes only for a just peace to end this unjust war. Let the people in question decide, freely and fairly.

To: Canada, Brazil
Fr: USA

The new Administration greets our trustworthy allies, Canada and Brazil. The goals of the previous President in using the Alliance was for war, but I wish to use it for peace. I propose a Free Trade Agreement between our nations to dissolve the trade barriers and let our economies flourish.

I never, EVER said that there weren't people who weren't unhappy about being ruled by me, as you see. All I said was that, as Greece pointed out, the world nations were formed by referendum in the first place! Hence, one nation who has absolutely no right to have any opinions about another nations citizens should not, nay, cannot assume a holier than-though attitude and say stupid, pompous, and self-defeating things like
"I think Russia should give up Latvia", or
"The English colonies must surely yearn to be free", or
"There should be an Eskimo/Spanish/Indian/Carribean/What have you? free nation"
It's an incredibly clear-cut case of the pot calling the kettle black, and if certain of the illustrious heads of state around the world did not have the faculties to understand the irony when I, who heads the largest connected country in the world, based purely on the conquest of my peoples' tsarist forefathers, started yelling about other people giving up bits and pieces of themselves, then I'm sorry. In future, I shall try and express myself in monosyllabic words only.

As for representation, I am hurt that such senseless, badly researched, and completely unfounded claims as: "You have no non-russians in your parliament!", could come from what tries to pass as a sound government. The Duma is composed of representation according to population, so of course there are more Russians than there are other ethnic groups in the Duma. There are more Russians! But in any case, this is a silly argument. The people in almost all of the territories you listed, have lived under the rule of Moscow for over a hundred years at least! They are all people of Russia, regardless of ethnicity! My homeland was one of the few whose borders changed very little after the hundred-years war settlement. The people in these areas have had countless opportunities to rebel and leave, as my nation has been wracked by internal strife countless times, and has endured several different types of government, some worse than others. I assure you, the people of these ethnic groups have never been better off than under the democracy. Many of these would not survive as free nations anyway, simply for lack of resources in their heartland, rivalling tribes, etc! We brought peace and order to a fractured asian steppe, and we have no wish to see our work undone by the whimsy of other nations, as I'm sure the other nations do not wish to see themselves undone by people like me.

Yours, hurt and bewildered
Premier Romanov

To those who wish for a peaceful forum for discussion and solution between the world's nations
It seems as though the people of the world have lost faith in Russia, the gentle giant, who has not once since the end of the hundred-years war waged war on a sovereign state, and do not wish to see a Sovereign League of Nations territory within my lands. Although this saddens me greatly, I understand it. I may have stepped on many toes by coming with the criticism I came with, and therefore I see I must step down. Russia will give up land for the League if the rest of the world will allow us, but if not, I will give my whole-hearted support to the Greek suggestions, both the one about placing the HQ on Ibiza, and the one about a peace-keeping force. If everyone else votes aye, I will immediately set aside 450,000 rubles (50 gold) in this years' budget for the purpose, and will follow up the next two years with the remaining 450,000, in two installments of 225,00 each.

Humbly and regretfully yours
Premier Nicolay Alexandrovich Romanov

We are quite satisfied Cain has been removed from office. It were mainly his statements which brought Germany and Russia in the war.
I support your peace treaty wholeheartedly. However if Britain still searches for war we have to stop their troops from reaching the Americas;so long my ships will get orders to stop British ships entering American harbours.I urge you and Pierre to stay on alert as well.

TO:World

I think it should be part of LoN-Charta that war is only allowed if the majority of LoN-members agrees in the General Assembly;breaking this charta should be punished by all other member states.
Self-Determination of nations should be an integral part as well.

To: American Alliance
From: Great Britain

RGB wishes to make it perfectly clear: We will not call back our various fleets, armies and squadrons on their way to the Americas until all forces withdraw immediately from ALL occupied areas in Swedish Argentina.

Furthermore, Britain will only allow a referendum to be conducted by RUSSIA, the decision to be made public also by Russia. We do not think that the Trinity Alliance is totally impartial.

ONLY once these terms have been met will Britain call of the Attack on America.

To: Nations of the World

Britain wishes to repeat her pledge of support for Russia to be the host of the League of Nations. We do not support the idea of forming an independent nation in previously owned Trinity Alliance areas. Britain's joining of the Alliance will greatly be determined by where the LoN is situated.

Furthermore, Britain wishes to make it clear that, any nation in the future openly discussing private domestic matters, or any nation openly talking about occupying Britain or her allies, will face an immediate embargo and possible military action. This IS a direct reference to Canada's untactful insult towards Britain.

To: America

RGB welcomes you in peace, as long as you quickly show signs that you are really serious. This means that you need to openly declare a withdrawel from Swedish Argentina to avoid a military invasion by Britain.

I do hope that you will accept this as a stern, yet friendly offer for conditional peace. I also hope that you will be more tactfull than the previous American Administration and that you will not, like Canada, insult Britain or meddle in our domestic affairs.

Please, let us reach a peace agreement. This however, can only be done once you have COMPLETELY withdrawn from Swedish territories. I agree on the other terms of your proposal for peace. I therefore think we might soon be allies again.

To: SWEDEN

Good friend! We are winning the struggle. Soon Argentina will be liberated again. I want to pledge my support that Argentina should be governed by SWEDEN, not by foreign or "independent (i.e. incabable) forces". Argentina is a ligitimate part of Sweden and, until ALL the worlds colonies are freed, there is NO reason for you to give up land that rightfully belongs to you.

If all goes well, I envite you to join me and the First Lady for a private dinner on the RAS Constantia in two days. Hope to see you there. We might discuss future cooperation between our two great nations.

How dare you insult a peaceloving nation like Russia!!! You arrogant fool! You should be ashamed.

I request you to immediately OPENLY APPOLOGISE to Russia. Britain has not yet called off planned invasion of Brazil. Your reaction to this letter will determine whether Brazil will live in peace with Britain or be crushed by an immense REPUBLICAN INVASION.

Appologise now for your irresponsible behaviour. Russia has done nothing to you!

We accept the Free Trade agreement, and agree with your assesment on Swedish South America.

The question is, do we re-ally ourselves, or simply stay with a simple peace treaty?

From: Britain

Britain is prepared to halt planned attacks on America and Canada, seeing as they have made significant steps in cleaning up the diplomatic mess they made.

BUT: We will still be attacking Brazil UNLESS this nation APPOLOGIZES to Russia immediately. Otherwise the attack (at least on Brazil) will continue.

To Romanov, my friend in Russia
From RGB

Comrade! You tipical of you to be so impartial and peaceloving.

I wish to make you the following offer: I want to sign a 100 year non-aggression and pro-economic act between Russia and Britain, to be called the Pact of Steel. As its name signifies, this will formally announce Russian and British friendship and cooperation. I am sure that this Pact will form a strong hand to deal swiftly and surely with future peace-disgracers and insulters (i.e. Brazil).

Also, do not back down so quickly! If Moscow cannot be the host for the LoN, will you accept the proposal to be the host for the European Alliance? Its parliament will also be situated in Russia.

To: PM Mitchell
Fr: Pres. Jackson

I am glad we could rise above the madness of war and bring peace to our planet yet again. I implore you however, to cancel all attacks on the American nations, including Brazil. We have no wish for further armed conflict, but any foreign attack on Brazil will result in war with the U.S. The Brazilians were faithful allies, and we won't abandon them now. Please, though, look ahead. Peace is within our grasp, and we should not throw it away trivially. I look forward to further correspondence with you.

To: PM Trudeau
Fr: Pres. Jackson

We would like to see the American Alliance continue, because it could indeed bring peace to this hemisphere, as its' charter suggests. I believe also it could be the beginning of something greater, that once free trade is allowed up and down this continent, that we may one day elect an American Senate, composed of Americans from all over the hemisphere, to decide public policy, and ensure peace is never robbed from us again. For these reasons, I propose we keep the AA in place, or sign a new series of treaties if this wouldbe more acceptable to put the AA in the past. In any case, I look forward to hearing from you.

"I agree with our friends, the AA is the beginning of something greater. Its Charta should be revieved to make it from a war into a peace and prosperity alliance.
I am thankful for my allies support and I urge them to assist my fleets in blocking the British invasion fleet and to station troops at my East Coast and the front line.
For Brazil the cease-fire is signed. My troops will begin to withdraw as soon as the Swedish begin to withdraw from my territory.
The people of Brazil will apologise to Russia if they apologise to the states of the American alliance."
