Just curious if anyone else has seen this problem or is aware of why this might happen.

1.) As Aztecs I have 2 improved copper mines.
2.) No civ will buy a copper from me (it doesn't show copper on my side of luxury resources in the trade window).
3.) All these civs buy lots of other resources from me so not diplo related.
4.) After researching satellites I discover that there is only 1 copper on the rest of the map (so these other civs do not all have a copper source)

Any idea what gives? I guess I always figured that if you couldn't try to trade a resource that meant they already had access to it. Are some civs just not interested in certain luxury resources?

Well, I guess you should run through a few checks first.

In the upper left of the UI is the thing that shows your tech research. YOu can drop that down and one of the options is a resource menu. It will show you what you have and are receiving or trading away with regards to resources. You can look at that and it may indicate that you've already traded it away and you didn't realize it.

If it isn't on that list, then the next thing to do is go to the tiles with copper and make sure that your workers finished the mines. I know that sometimes a barb or enemy will disturb my worker and I will simply think that the task is completed when it's not. Also make sure that the tiles have not been pillaged or that an enemy hasn't used a GG to steal them.

If the tiles are in your borders and the improvements are intact, then I would imagine that you're dealing with a bug that you should report to Firaxis along with a saved game file.

Yeah, there were no problems there. They were in my resource list (I usually use that to check what I can trade). Sounds like a bug then. Thanks for the reply.

I don't think I've had this happen before. Can you post a save? It's possible that there's some Copper sources that you may be overlooking if the AI settled a city directly on top of the resource, which makes them easy to miss.

This is not to say it's not a bug, of course, much weirder things have happened. :)

An AI might also have a city settled on top of it, so it may not be obvious unless you have resource icons turned on.

Even with resource icons on, the icon doesn't display if the city is founded on top of the resource.
