Unassigned Trait combos - a list for reference!

Hello, here's a list of the trait combinations that remain unassigned, for everyone's quick reference , since May 25, 2007. Looking over this list, and thinking about what is probable, does it help predict which new civ leader will get which combination? And for that matter, does it influence predictions of what the last few new civs will be? Thoughts & ruminations?

1) Aggressive + Organized (was for Tokugawa in vanilla Civ, now unassigned)

2) Charismatic + Creative
3) Charismatic + Industrious
4) Charismatic + Philosophical

5) Creative + Expansive (was for Cyrus in vanilla Civ, now unassigned)
6) Creative + Financial (was for Catherine in vanilla Civ, now unassigned)
7) Creative + Philosophical (was for Frederick in vanilla Civ, now unassigned)
8) Creative + Protective

9) Expansive + Financial (was for Victoria in vanilla Civ, now unassigned)

10) Financial + Organized (was for Washington in vanilla Civ, now unassigned)

11) Imperialistic + Industrious
12) Imperialistic + Philosophical
13) Imperialistic + Protective
14) Imperialistic + Spiritual

15) Industrious + Philosophical

16) Organized + Protective

17) Philosophical + Protective

I find that sometimes seeing the "big picture" via a comprehensive list of points I can make better observations. Thus I see a few things:

a) I believe there is no way a new trait will be introduced, there are too many unassigned options!
b) I am quite sure the Netherlands will get the Financial trait, so were the Dutch Creative, Expansive or Organized (given the way these terms are defined in the game)? I predict Financial + Expansive (given the Dutch talent for agriculture, seafaring and trade).
c) I'll guess Hammurabi will be assigned Aggressive + Organized (for conquests and law), Sitting Bull will be Creative + Protective (peaceful, culturally inclined), Pericles will be Charismatic + Philosophical (strong military and strong leadership), and Justinian will be Imperialistic + Spiritual (an early Christian emperor). Financial + Organized was a powerful trait combo for Washington, and somehow I wouldn't be surprised if it was finally assigned to Abe Lincoln! (Just a "hunch" , although Abe as Charismatic + Industrious would be very nice too.) I'll bet Pacal of the Mayans gets Creative + Expansive (a growing culture in the fertile jungles of Central America), and Gilgamesh is assigned as Organized + Protective (for his concern for his people). Creative + Philosophical is very well suited to Suleiman (Suleiman I, the Magnificant?) who was a patron of the arts and apparently a man for fairness & justice in his times.

Those are my speculations for now. Wikipedia was of assistance!

PS: Some further reassignment by Firaxis of traits may occur, in which case our predictions will be more difficult!

though,ur logic is so nice and convincing in assigning traits to leaders.

Personally I would like to see the Protective+Creative or Protective+Philosophical trait on someone, anyone really. It would be the ultimate turtle-leader. Stay behind your archer/riflemen and conquer everyone else with tech or culture.. Yummy

I thought there were 19 missing traits... Aggressive/Charismatic apparently goes to Boudica of the Celts, but that would still leave 18. I think Imperialistic/Expansive is also still unused.

Joao II of Portugal is going to be Imp/Exp. This was confirmed in an article a while ago.

My recreational speculations on trait matches for known new leaders are:

Cre/Phi for Pericles,
Fin/Exp or Fin/Cre for Oranje,
Pro/Org for Justinian,
Cha/Ind for Lincoln,
Cre/Pro for Sitting Bull,
???/??? for Suleiman I, and
Agg/Org for Hammurabi.

So, yeah, I agree with some of Dutch Canuck's.

That's my suspicion and, even if it isn't combined with the Native American unique building, I am very much looking forward to trying it out. A civ which, in the early game, doesn't need to invest in culture or is highly dependent on local strategic resources? Nice.

Philosophical wouldn't deter you from using cottages. One high-food GP farm can be enough to get lots out of the Philosophical trait.

Pericles will have a combination of Charismatic, Creative and Philosophical. Any possible combo of these would be pretty awesome to me, though Creative-Philosophical can be very powerful, especially with the cheap Odeon. Anyway, I'm looking forward to play with him.

I think Justinian will be either: [Oh and with Beuracracy as his fav. civic]


Orgnaised/Aggressive (Justinian code, shows great organisation etc.)
Imperialistic/Spiritual (A possibility, but since he wasn't particularly religous, i dpon't see the point.

with my own hope being:
Imperialistic/Industrious *(given he reconquered large Portions of the Western Empire and the GG Belisarius being serving him, and had vast construction policies, such as the Hagai Sophia.)


William of Orange should get:

Creative/Charismatic*
or...
Financial/Organised.

The second would pretty much sum-up the Dutch, but not really William Of Orange, Charismatic sums up William (in my opinon), since he convinced the English to give up their legitimate king and take him. Although protective or Agressive might suit aswell, given the fighting against the Catholics.

Lincoln:
Charismatic/Industrious
or...
Organised/Protective*

Sulieman:
Agressive/Organised
or...
Creative/Expansive

Pericles:
Industrious/Charismatic
or...
Imperialistic/Protective*

don't know anything about the other leaders...

Suleiman really need to be Industrious to reflect the revitalization of Istanbul under him, or at the very least, Creative. Organized to reflect his skill with laws works. Organized/Industrious would be my first choice, but seeing your list... maybe Industrious/Philosophical? Thats a forbidden combo though, so maybe we get some shuffling and Organized/Philosophical ends up in Suleiman's hands.

Justinian most definatley has to be Imperialist/Industrious for the same reason above.

If Pericles is in (thought that was still just speculation?) he NEEDS to be charismatic. No two ways about it. THe other trait is pretty open however.

Edit: Forgot about Gilgamesh! Protective/Creative or Protective/Philosophical to represent the growing civilization of the sumerians.

My guesses for the uncorfimed civs/leaders:

King Mursilis of Hittites = Fin/Exp
Emperor Yohannes IV of Abyssinia = Agg/Org

Emperor Meiji of Japan = Cha/Cre
King Charles V of Spain = Spi/Imp


So the unused trait combinations would be; Imperialistic + Protective, Financial + Organized and Industrious + Philosophical

Well Firaxis seems to have gotten rid of the "forbidden trait" idea, since the Portugesse will now have a Expansive/Industrious leader, who will be a monster, consider loads of early settlers AND workers building roads and cotttages behind the new very health fast growing cities.....

What to think of Boudica's Aggressive/Charismatic?

Only 13 XP needed for Combat V. 'Normal' leaders would require 26 XP if I remember correctly. Barracks, Vassalage, Theocracy and a settled Great General will give units 3 promotions in addition to Combat I (which is a prequisite for promotions like Shock, Medic, etc.)
