Uncontested Elections

Citizens,
The democratic process works best when we have debate and elections for all positions. At this time the following elections have only a single candidate running. I encourage any person with some time to run for a position. If you are shy and would wish for someone else to nominate you then send me a PM in the next 5 hours and I will nominate you.

Ministries: Domestic, Military, and Foreign: 1 person running in each of these.
Judiciary: Chief Justice and JA: 1 person running in each of these.
Legislature: Edo, Kitkinu, and HAI-RANDO: 1 person running in each of these.

A few prominent citizens (Cyc, Sir Donald III, Donovan Zoi) have been nominated in several of these areas and are still undecided. I would like to remind these citizens that nominations and acceptances close soon.

Actually, it's 2 hours + some # of minutes.

It's still Daylight Savings Time (DST), so we are 4 hours behind GMT here in EDT (where Chieftess' time zone is). So at 8 pm EDT, 12 am GMT, nominations go up.


Don't worry if it's confusing - it's confusing to Chieftess too.

Also, there has always been uncontested elections, alittle undemocratic, but not much we can do about it.

Good call. I'm continuing the tradition.

The number of uncontested elections would probably be smaller if candidates were allowed to run for more than one position. But I like this rule, thus we'll need another solution.

Let me break the trend, though my status may be likely to change.

I tried to accept my nomination for FA, but was thwarted by the Election Office(via my impending opponent CivGeneral ) beacuse I posted my acceptance "1 minute late." I am currently requesting a Judicial Review on the matter, if only to add some excitement to the game.

There was at least one person running for every position. Most contested elections have only 2 candidates. You seemed to have selected one of the most contested elections. You can always consider applying for a deputy position in one of the uncontested areas.
