Most of her naval force were stuck here, so we also need to watch the western sea.

Her 1st wave came from south and is not impressive. 2 frigates and 3 galleons are rather suicide move.

Turn 230 -- We sunk 4 galleons and here's Boudica's major stack left. I stop here since we face a decision of teching next which could be slightly different from my original plan. Also time to start GA and civic change.

Suleiman had SM at turn 223/224 and I think he will research Physics after. Not sure of his research power, so I don't know whether we have a chance to beat him to physics that time (pretty sure yes) and now (probably low). However from the screen we know that Boudica need 8 turns to Physics, so Suleiman should be slower. I think we have quite a chance -- research 2 turns into Physics, if Suleiman still not finished it, we can burn the GS to win it, so the only drawback of this plan is to delay GA for 2 turns.

Note: I totally have not paid attention to the science slider. It turns out I should at least have removed that annoying 10% culture slider after cathedral in capital, probably better from beginning.

Question is--do we want to try offense vs. Boudica or peace?

My gut feeling would be peace but I'm not sure. We should be able to get her to pleased as the - for trading WE will be gone soon if we lose the religion. Rifles/cannnon will be fine for Monte--then a modern war for Boudica.
We could also go out to radio and build wonders--that'll have good denial value as well.

anyway, I'd try and stay in war with her some more... at least her research will be crappier and she'll spam useless soon to be obsolete units

I prefer to tech Combustion after Physics and Communism since Destroyer will greatly help the intercontinent war. Also making peace with Boudica when available so that we can draw those SoLs to Monty's land, but no need to please her.

I am back (well almost), need to do some house cleaning and the like. For instance: uploading tons of pictures from the trip. The weather was beyond splendid and overall a few marvelous days in Rome.

So, if you want me I can take a set. I will need some more time to prepare, though.
 
Boudica will declare on Izzy 1st for sure as long as she is both annoyed w/ her and us.
 
I'd like to try and get a strategic gameplan here--seems like that should influence our tech choices after physics.

One path--defend against Boudica, get peace then attack Monte. If we gift Boudica additional tech then lose the religion we should be able to get her to pleased. Isn't this pretty strong--that means we are safe as we whack Monte?

If we research out to combustion, we rule the seas totally and get RR online sooner.

Research electricity-radio should get us the wonders which should pretty well solve happiness and also have denial value.

If we've got Boudica to pleased, I would lean to the radio route as I think we'll have naval supremacy over Monte anyway.

As for Iz-Boudica, yes Boudica should attack her and likely get stopped prior to vassalizing by AP again (but not sure).

Bestsss--why don't you take this --no hurry as I think some discussion would be useful.

I think I can play on Sunday but that would be the earliest and it precludes a having hangover.

I prefer Physics/communism/electricity path and stopping the war w/ Boudica as soon as possible. State property/electricity is a good boost to the economy given the windmills and watermills we have. Not sure about Broadway, though since we can't really export the resources.
Railroad will not give production boost and I agree to ungy we will have enough sea domination for beat Monty (although we get 2 extra health from public transport)

Civics:
* Representation is not questionable for the moment.
* I guess state property is the next solid choice.

? Nationhood, during the golden age only or we want to keep it? The capital is really good but if we will conquering Monthy nationhood should be a better option.
? Caste or keep the slavery, I'd prefer caste since we have good infrastructure already. I do not like free religion in our situation but if we have to please Boudica it might be necessary. We won't get extra happiness since there will be no way for missionaries.

Yes, Nat only during GA.

Caste in GA, but keep slavery after that since the new capture city will need it.

We are not afraid of being DOWed by Boudica since we can easily wipe out any of her fleet in the sea, but offense to her continent for a long lasting war is just so bad even she did not go for Rifling. We can easily and quickly take her out with a Fighters/Bombers/Marines war after we conquer Monty's continent. I'd adopt Theo during GA and stay on OR after, let Boudica come for us if she want it.
 
So basically we want GA drafting w/ Theocracy and revert the civic to the present state minus state property.

I guess I'd double draft everything but Paris and Washington. (except NY gets drafted every turn). 2nd draft will be at the end of the golden age to allow more tiles to be worked. The happiness will be improved w/ the whale as well.
The next great general is going to be settled in Washington or we make super medic?
Also we want great merchant now? Or anything that's not a great spy, for a second golden age?

I think to end the set at the last turn of the golden age, if any civic changes will be needed. So I won't switch back. It would be 10-11 turns when using the great scientist from physics.

I believe the galleon stack is for Monty, so I will only enlarge it w/o moving it.
 
There is no more input, so I assume the above is correct.

In term info: absolute lucky great scientist from physics. Suleiman finished it on the same turn, we got if of course. Got peace w/ Boudica, paid her some 170 gold and our map (value of the map was less than 50).

On a plus note: Kremlin in 5 turns.
 
Finished the set:
* Peace w/ Boudica.
* Won both Physics (the closest win one can get) and Communism.
* Got Kremlin, since we would be whipping, considered it worthy while.
* Still in golden age, another can be started immediately.
* Fleet is ready to sail but Mothy can research rifles.
* Clean up the barbarian island, there are 2 slots to settle.

Nothing bad (won all battles, that's very rare) but we are getting behind in GNP. Put Brooadway to build (no hammers invested)
Got confused w/ drafting, and restarted the game.
I will post the screenshots a bit later.

Nothing so interesting happened, killed 8 (I think) galleons w/ some escorts and finally Boudica decided to talk which was good since the ships were at half health.
Gave map and a bit less gold that was good since the last turn of physics were close to broke.

Meanwhile Boudica went in aggro mode, poor Izzy (but she has rifles) is the target. I keep some fleet in case Boudica vassals Izzy and jumps on us.

According to "solders" we are second in power and Boudica is the 1st.

Notes:
The fleet should be ready to sail away. I didn't fully draft during the last turn, so some draftees can be considered.
Broodway has no hammers invested, so feel free to cancel it.
There are not beakers into railroad if we need to go radio (or biology?)
 
Pretty good, we are probably able to send some of the stack a little earlier since I think most of Monty's forces should be stuck in the south border.
