DLL Minion
In the standard game, a civilization must have at least two uniques (otherwise the setup screens glitch out) and a civilization with more than two uniques will only display the first two - picking in the order units then buildings then improvements.
This pseudo-DLC (for BNW only at the moment, although I may be persuaded to reverse engineer the changes into G&K and Vanilla if there's demand) addresses some of those issues.
A civilization may now have any number of uniques, including none - the setup screens will not glitch out but will display properly.
Up to six uniques will be displayed in the setup and load screens. Any additional uniques will correctly display in the 'Pedia (they always did).
The six uniques are picked as 3 units, 2 buildings and 1 improvement. If there isn't a UI another UB will be chosen. If there are insufficient UBs, other UIs will be chosen. If there are insufficient UBs and UIs, additional UUs will be chosen. If there aren't 3 UUs but there are additional UBs and/or UIs these will be chosen, alternating between UIs and UBs until all six slots are filled or the uniques run out.
Tooltips are also available in the setup screens for the uniques (although player/city specific enhancements will not be displayed - eg extra tourism on researching flight)
To install, download the attached .zip file and unzip it into the DLC sub-directory, typically located at "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V\Assets\DLC"
