Heal jans, hurt jags. I'd love to hear if anyone has an actual reason to think the jans are the worst UU on the list right now or if they just don't understand how the thread works and want a "fair fight."

I gave my reason for voting down jags. Obviously this is subjective, and people have different reasons and different criteria as to what makes a unit the best or worst. Which is why I ask if there actually is a reason people are voting down the jans, or if they're not even trying to use any criteria as to why they're the worst on the list, and instead are completely not getting the point of the thread.

have you considered that maybe you're not getting the point of the thread?
the point is to eliminate things one by one via a series of balanced votes.

people determine their own criteria for voting and nothing can change that, and there are legitimate reasons to vote down janissary such as the base unit is poor, the civ is poor, they come somewhat late and there's only a short time frame in which to build them. its abilities are no doubt the best available, but that clearly is not the only criterion people are looking at.

Yes, I'm well aware that there can be any number of different reasons a person could think the jan is the best or worst. All of those reasons are perfectly fine. They could think it looks ugly and I'd be fine with that being the reason. But there does need to be A reason they think the jan is the worst, and "They're too far ahead" is not a reason to consider them the worst. That has nothing to do with them being good or bad. If they have a reason, any reason, to think they're the worst, good. If they just don't want them too far ahead, then they don't get it.
