I like victory 2. Looks great as always.

I like victory #2. It seems more exciting to me.

Thanks to hetairoi22 and joespaniel for the great descriptions.
I will use joespaniel´s version but give you both credit in the readme.
The name "Armored Shock Infantry" sounds good to me, I just hope there is no limit to how many characters can be used.

nonnob3:
I was just confused by that Hitler smilie. (I didn´t mean to accuse you of being a Hitler fanatic)

I live in the northern area of germany, so no "Oktoberfest" (also called "Wiesn", spelled like "Wien" just with an "s" before the "n" ;) ).

Grey Fox:
I read through that thread, seems like a pretty good start.
Send me a pm if you have more infos on what units you plan to include etc.
I still want to do the commando unit after this one here is finished (may take a break first).
After that I could do "some" more future units.

joespaniel:
Sorry, no self-propelled artillery (I´m devoted to infantry).
I think foot units are more exciting than vehicles in general, meaning that a well-done infantry unit is always superior to a vehicle with the same quality, but that´s just my opinion.

Well, since I was an infantry soldier way back when, of the 10th Mountain Division, I will have to agree. :D

I was just fishing... :fish:

You're a real artist !
Body based animations are so hard to do, and you make them so well. Only a real artist can make a job like that.

That's why I just make tanks :)

Go on, this is great !

Very impressive. Can't wait to get my hands on this one. I hope you'll release it soon.

The unit is finished, only the sounds are missing.
In fact, I have already started work on a new unit (the spec-ops unit). I may also redo the modern infantry unit (mainly colors) with the help of Steph, who came up with the idea to make different versions to better represent the different countries.

I know two weeks ago I´ve said it´ll be ready soon but I don´t want to release it without the sounds, sorry.

By the way I have improved the drop and run animation a bit. The drop animation is now greener plus a few tweaks and the run animation plays a bit smoother now. (did not update the .gif files)

Fanastic job, Balou. I agree that he needs to have some great sounds to match, mainly a deep throated machine gun and heavy footsteps.

I can't wait for your spec ops guy!

You don't just make tanks, you make the Merkava f'in 4,
baby!!! :D

An excellent unit indeed,... and I admire your dedication to foot
units, as there certainly is a need for them :p

Thanks, but, I have bad news for you.
I will need to find someone else to get the sounds done since Senoj is very busy at the moment. (it´s alright, he told me that he would do them but I don´t want to give him all this additional work when he´s busy with other things)

I posted a request on another message board but did not get any response so far. Maybe here someone is interested to help out?
Of course you´ll get full credit in the readme.

I can do some sound editing but can´t really record new sounds.
Here are the sounds that are needed:
1) Attack (your standard pulse rifle)
2) Death (standard "ahhh"/"uhhah" but slightly electric distorted)
3) Fidget ("scratch, scratch" sound)
4) Fortify ("stomp, stomp" sound, maybe a bit metallic)
5) Victory ("Accomplished Sir!" or something similar)

Send me the unit via e-mail, and I'll get some sounds for it.

I'll mechanize the death voice and accomplished sir. although I am not sure about the pulse rifle, I'll send some samples, and you can pick one.
