No actually if I'm setting it up to render overnight I duplicate the animation a few times on the animation palette (hold ALT down and drag the selection)... Changing the angle 45 degrees each time... This does take some time with all the frames (usually 120 or so for each direction) so I've never set it up to do all 8 directions at once... usually just 2 or 3 at a time.

Indeed, the front legs (or is it just the trappings?) look a tad stiff when it rears up.
 
I'll look into it but I think that it's mostly the angle... The legs do move around, I'll just have to amplify it a little.
 
This unit looks just outstandingly beautiful!!! :D I'm gonna use it as a Heavy Cavalry (late ancient in my not-yet-realized mod) for Middle Eastern civs (Persian, Babylonians, Arabs, Byzantines etc.)

Kinboat, this work will be a masterpiece.

I had once ask to Kirten, but he has a huge list of units to make, so maybe he will only finish at civ 4's time.
So, if you wanna try, i believe that you can do a really good job.

What about a Roman Ancient Cavalry?

Maybe you should rename yourself Leonardo da Vinci. The only other person I know of who made exquisite horses...
 
Leonardo's horses were hand carved... I used a horse model on a computer... Doesn't quite compare in my mind but thanks for the comment.
I really only need the death and run animations to finish this up. One question though... I've made a short animation of the rider shooting his bow with the horse running forward a few steps. While this doesn't really match with the others as I have him carrying his spear in the default and fortify, I have the intention of setting this animation as AttackA and then the single spear attack as AttackB (which would then repeat). My question is do people think that it'll be too strange to have him fortify then skip to a bow attack and then skip back to the spear? If you do then I'll just skip the bow. Even if I do include it people could just use the spear as AttackA and leave the bow flc out of it. Anyway previews of the attacks will be up later today or maybe early tomorrow.
 
Do the bow attack, please! Then this beauty could have defensive bombard capability, right? Anyway, looks great so far! :D
 
I dont think thge horse should run when he fires the bow, it does´nt look good ingame I think. Why not just make the fotify animation with a bow, then when he has fired one or two arrows, he switches to lance/spear and use that in attcackb?
 
I agree with Yoda, the jump would be less jaring if the horse didn't run.

The unit is very cool though!:goodjob:
