Well, he is Jewish.
IMO, the headband almost makes him look like an ancient Rambo.
General reference information:
Kippah:
"From a biblical standpoint, only the Priests serving in the Temple were required to cover their heads (see Exodus 28:4)."
"Cover your head in order that the fear of heaven may be upon you"
Talmud Bavli: Shabbat 156b
Aritcles of clothing:
"According to Alfred Edersheim (Life and Times of Jesus the Messiah, I, 625) the common male Israelite during the 1st Century wore 6 articles of clothing.
1.The tunic (Heb. ketonet) was usually "woven without seam" throughout and was tight around the neck with short sleeves.
2. The shirt was a linen shirt (heb. chaluq) that was worn beneath the tunic.
3.They wore a linen girdle, wound several times around the waist.
4.There was also an outermost cloak usually made of white woolen cloth with the four prescribed "tzizit" at the corners.
5.The description of the headdress is uncertain but we do know that no Jewish teacher of that day would appear in public with the head uncovered.
6.They also wore leather sandals."
If you really don't like the kippah, maybe you could go with a turban?
Check out the guy on the right.
