Largely underrepresented in CivIII, here are three French tanks from the WWII period. Just because they lost the war in 1940 doesn't mean they didn't have great weapon systems!

Now if somebody (Smokingmirror are ya up for it?

) could find the time to make these tanks...
The R.35
Built by Renault, the R.35 was a smaller tank by 1940 standards,
weighing in at about 10 tons. This was considerably heavier than
the PzI and about the same as the Pz II, the R.35's most numerous opponents. The tank was fast, had good range, and heavy armor for a tank of it's size at 45mm. The main drawback was the tank's very poor gun of 37mm. While average in caliber, it was a short barreled low-velocity version, making it almost useless against armor. It was France's most numerous tank in 1940, with about 2,000 being manufactured.
The S.35
First produced in 1935, the S.35 was considered the best tank in
the world. It had a smooth modern appearance, a powerful 47mm cannon, and thick 55mm of armor. All this at 20 tons with good speed and excellent range. The S.35 had an electric turret
drive, very modern for its day. As with other French tanks, the
main drawback was that the S.35 was a two-man tank. The tank
commander had to load, aim, and fire the gun, leaving him little
time to command his tank or any others.
The H.39
The French H.39 light tank was one of the better French tanks
employed in 1940. It was reliable, had decent armor of 40mm and a gun on average with they day of 37mm. Equal, in fact, to the much less numerous Pz III if faced. The main drawback of this tank was decisive; it was a two-man tank, forcing the commander to fire the weapon in battle rather than command his tank and other tanks he may be in charge of.
