Ripptide is making the F-111

After we completed the ancient Japanese lineup, what's next on the plate? China? I would welcome that! Especially now that we have such wonderful scans as templates.

Well, I tried to start doing the Qin spear and crossbow but their armor is much too difficult for me to do at the moment through copy/paste) (though I had sketches already from wargaming.net).
One I could probably do would be the Western Han spearman but I have lots of other projects to finsih before that and there are real unit creators who would do a much better job than me.

Does anybody have an idea whether there are any civ-specific Japanese mounted units out there? Would I find them in the PTW expansion pack?

If they don't exist, has anybody ever thought about making them?

There are a few in PTW... Mounted Archer and Samurai I believe...

Here is a chariot Western Chou chariot (800 BC).
Chariots was employed as a shock weapon.
The 8th to the 5th centuries (Eastern Chou) were the heday of the chariot, wich appeared in greater numbers than ever before or since.

Largely underrepresented in CivIII, here are three French tanks from the WWII period. Just because they lost the war in 1940 doesn't mean they didn't have great weapon systems! :D
Now if somebody (Smokingmirror are ya up for it? ;) ) could find the time to make these tanks...

The R.35
Built by Renault, the R.35 was a smaller tank by 1940 standards,
weighing in at about 10 tons. This was considerably heavier than
the PzI and about the same as the Pz II, the R.35's most numerous opponents. The tank was fast, had good range, and heavy armor for a tank of it's size at 45mm. The main drawback was the tank's very poor gun of 37mm. While average in caliber, it was a short barreled low-velocity version, making it almost useless against armor. It was France's most numerous tank in 1940, with about 2,000 being manufactured.

The S.35
First produced in 1935, the S.35 was considered the best tank in
the world. It had a smooth modern appearance, a powerful 47mm cannon, and thick 55mm of armor. All this at 20 tons with good speed and excellent range. The S.35 had an electric turret
drive, very modern for its day. As with other French tanks, the
main drawback was that the S.35 was a two-man tank. The tank
commander had to load, aim, and fire the gun, leaving him little
time to command his tank or any others.

The H.39
The French H.39 light tank was one of the better French tanks
employed in 1940. It was reliable, had decent armor of 40mm and a gun on average with they day of 37mm. Equal, in fact, to the much less numerous Pz III if faced. The main drawback of this tank was decisive; it was a two-man tank, forcing the commander to fire the weapon in battle rather than command his tank and other tanks he may be in charge of.

Here's another WWII era tank...

The M26 was the first US heavy tank to see extensive action, and was born of the realization that the Sherman was far outclassed. An excellent tank, it was not introduced to combat units until 1945, woefully late to help the thousands of US tankers killed as they fought across Europe in Shermans. It was armed with a 90mm high velocity stabilized gun, allowing it to fire accurately on the move. While not decisively powerful, it was strong enough to penetrate Panthers and usually Tigers at either close range or on a flank.

Abybody interested in making this one, too?:D

Never mind the M26 Pershing - I found it on CDG. Looks pretty cool, too!

Is anyone interesting in making the Unimog?

Could be a neat FU for the Germans in the Modern Age... :)

...and TopGun strikes again!

I know, I know, it's another tank. But you can never have too many of 'em. Wouldn't be cool if we had a complete lineup of tanks for the WWII era?

So, anybody interested in making this one?

Topgun, welcome to CFC. Just wait until SOE is public and you'll get a a gret many nice tanks.
