Turtle Ships
powerful ships, first ironclads in the world, built in Korea in 1500's, comparable to ironclads of u.s. civil war which was more than 250 years later
Summary of features on the turtle ship:
1. Iron armour on the top and sides.
2. Sails or masts could be taken down to reduce exposure to incendiary devices.
3. Dome shape would cause incendiary devices to roll down the sides and into the water.
4. Ability to create a smoke screen. At least according to the engineering department at the University of Houston, USA.
5. At least the early versions had an iron ram. The later versions had 26+ cannon.
6. Oars for good manueverability under any wind conditons.
7. Multiple layers of iron with insulating layers of wood in between

Shin Ki Jeon Hwa Cha
built in Korea in 1400's, the first rocket launcher/mirv weapon in the world
A sinkijon was capable of firing as many as 100 fire-arrows or explosive grenades. Its long-range fire-power was effective in catching the enemy off guard. The fire-arrow contained a device equipped with gunpowder and shrapnel, timed to explode near the target.
Years later, sinkijon was given another significant upgrade, which enabled it to hurl a fire-arrow made up of small warheads and programmed to detonate and shower multiple explosions around the enemy.
In 1451, King Munjong ordered a drastic upgrade of hwacha, a rocket
launcher on a cartwheel. This improvement allowed as many as 100
sinkijons to be mounted on the hwacha, boosting the overall fire-power and mobility of the rocket.
i'm trying to do a mod which, among other things, will include a korean civ.. or two if i divide northern(KoChoson, Koguryo, Parhe, North Korea) and southern(Pekche, Silla, Koryo, Choson, South Korea)
