I have a work in progress:
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=104678&page=1&pp=20

that requires some new units.

1. A Steam Landship also know as a Land Ironclad.
It would look something like the attached images....(thanks to ozymandias for the link),

2. A Steam Mecha for which I have no pictures but it would look like a typical walking mecha with a gatling gun fitted to one arm and perhaps a grabber fitted to the other. It would be clunky looking, with funnels for steam to escape perhaps have a brassy look or blackened metal look (certainly not shiny).

Oh well that's a big request but they would certainly make this scenario more possible.

thanks
KA

No it's wonderful and I've already earmarked it for my mod ;) .

I could have two classes of steam powered land vehicles. A Steam Tank for which I can use your fine creation and a Land Ship which would be a bigger, slower but more heavily armoured version.

Also your gyrocopter will make a good addition to my mod :goodjob:

This is propably a bit far off to suit you as a land ironclad :mischief:

And all of these too in fact :)

-Paddle-wheel Ironclad (13th Oct, 2004)
-Steam Tiger Ironclad (15th Oct, 2004)
-Chinese Junk
-Clipper (Oct 1st, 2004)
-USS Constitution (7th Oct, 2004)
-Da Vinci's Tank

In fact these units in some ways inspired me to start this mod

Ummmm....

KA, I was wondering if you've ever seen the Trigun anime series. When I saw the "Land Ships" part, the Sand Steamers in that story are what popped into my mind. I'm thinking of doing a more angular military-looking version (basically a land-cruiser or battleship with lots of big gunz). OF course, I'm taking a break from unit making until the end of the month, but I might get started on a model or two..

Please post some pics either here or in the Steampunk thread. Sand Steamers sound cool.

Well, since I spent several hours searching thorugh a ton of Trigun fan pages and came up dry, here's a crappy digital photo I made from one of the Trigun Maximum Manga I have. Keep in mind that the sand steamer pictured is about the same size as a standard cruise liner. My version will be a militarized version (with lots of big gunz and armor plating).

Thanks for the pic. A military version of that would be great.

Land ships the size of a cruise liner  I had imagined something smaller but those sound scary.
