The Pacific coast, from northern California to southern Alaska (not including the Alaska islands) enjoys (if that is the right word) pretty much the same climate, in terms of rainfall and very generally temperature (The Japanese Current affects this terrain for both rainfall and temperature. It is far more important what the Pacific brings us that what its like at the North Pole (with certian infrequent (thank god) exceptions. We do get snow, but its mostly at higher elevations. Think ski.
Yeah, but my northwest friend, as you know, the really nice bits are sheltered from the pacific by mountains; Victoria and the Gulf Islands/Juan De Fucas are 40% drier than the poor bastards on the landward side of the straits and the seaward side of the coast.
With the weed, it's not so much a separate major as it is a co-op component that finds its way into every course. so, more like:
Course Title: History300: Napoleon, Marijuana and the French Revolution
Prerequisite: Polisci 250, Weed and the Modern State
Corequisite: History200 (Industrial Innovation and the Invention of "BC Gold;" Survey Course)
Students must complete at least two (2) hotboxed evening seminar discussions outside the classroom on the course topic and any other subject that comes to mind.
Note, this course is required to complete the MJ degree.
