Unoffical Offical CFC Minecraft Server -- World 3

I know this isn't related to this server, but is anyone else unable to login to Minecraft because it won't connect to Minecraft.net? I've had this problem all day.

What happened to my geld? I went form 3000 something, to 51...

It's good with the low cost and all. But the sudden quadrupling in all shop prices really hurt us newbies. I'm nost sure what to say other than that.

EDIT: Because me selling two stacks of diamond before the market reworking now renders me with very, very little. I did it because I was afraid of simple theft.

EDITEDIT: Ok, my home was removed somehow. The '/home set' command does not work. My town was removed. Founding the town again does not work. Nothing works.

EDITEDITEDIT: Is there a reason why redstone is free now? :S

Almost everything is less than 100 geld if not less than 50 or less than 10. The prices are very, very low.

Yeah I had an entire chest of redstone I didn't sell either and the market flooded itself nicely without me.

As posted earlier (I think) your town was unfounded automatically because you had no money in the treasury (it costs 10 geld every real day)). There is a new home plug in and the command is now /sethome (you also can't move, AT ALL, which is a bit annoying of someone bumps into you). It also costs more to found a town now, not sure how much and it might be slightly broken due to the update.

EDITEDITEDIT: Is there a reason why redstone is free now? :S
Because people sold a lot of it, and it isn't completely free, for a stack of 64 it costs 8 geld to buy or gives you 6 geld when sold.

Everything I own right now is still worthless. :/

Well, the market flooding itself wasn't due to me either, and whomever did this hurt me too. I banked the diamond because it was 1 to 1; I did the same with gold and iron. Now, it's not 1 to 1 anymore (Understandable), but the price for diamond quadrupled, so the work I did is currently worth much less.

Just get me right; I didn't autosell everything to raise my geld, I autosaved some of my stuff because we have had experiences of theft, and I really didn't see a reason why my diamond was going to be left in a chest of two stacks. I have plenty of redstone in my chests too, simply because the ratio wasn't 1-1.

The town founding command doesn't work.

Well, people =/= me. I'm really annoyed that bad behavior of others reflects its consequences on people like me. But I'm happy there is a price. (Nothing should be free, so I think this is fine. It's not like redstone is widely used either.)

Is glass the new banking material with the 1-1 ratio?

Oh stop whining. There are ALWAYS issues for a few days after minecraft is updated. Plugins don't fully work due to server or api changes. I get screwed over because a) I'm the one who has to navigate the plugin ecosystem to get everything up to date and b) I have to put up with people's ridiculous sense of self entitlement.

The market was never intended to be a secure storage system, that is why I installed the chest protect plugin. I gave plenty of warning about switching to a realistic economy.

Which brings me to my next point. Supply, demand. Basic economics you learn in the 6th grade. If supply bigger than demand, prices fall; demand bigger than supply, prices go up. If the size of your geld account is that darn important to you, learn how to to find opportunities in the market to make money. Don't come whining to me that your pet block price got flooded in one direction or the other.

If this server is so bloody damaging to your self image, go emo rage quit again and play on someone else's server.

If your so worried about burglars, use the chest protection, or just put a block on top of your chest. If you sell into the market, think of it as the stockmarket. It goes up and down.

Well, I found out what happened. The server log decided to fill up to 3 gigs in size and used up all the hard drive space. This impacted all the flat file databases (Towny and iConomy most notably).

The plugin ecosystem is still in upheaval with the iConomy developer leaving. I'm still watching at what plugins will become the new defacto standards, and I have a good idea which ones those will probably be. Server will be up and down a lot during the day as I try and fix damage and replace plugins.

By the way, did you guys get a snow day today? We did.

We did as well :D

Towny has been updated. A key feature is mayor/assistance ability to prevent non-residents from using items int he town, such as buckets
So looks like I have to bug Captain2 to enable residents to use buckets :p. Because at this moment, even the residents cant use the buckets.

Its sunny here :D

Due to bugs and uncertainty about the future of iConomy I switched to a economy plugin called Cookies! The only change is where ever you used /money in the past, use /cookie or just /c
Mmm, cookies.

How would that affect the server?
