Unofficial BTS 3.13 patch

The answer depends more on Firaxis, and how soon they intend to release their next patch, and whether it resolves all outstanding issues.

What compiler do you use to compile the dll ?

can someone tell me how to do this?

This is probably one of those things where if you have to ask the (metaphorical) price, you probably can't afford it. ;)

Still, check out this thread, and if you're still curious, follow the link in the third post for more info.

Bhuric, I have a question about this point in your patch:
Vassal's spies will no longer be "caught" in your territory

Does this mean when they're just wandering through? I wonder because it seems that a vassal could still perform espionage missions against me (or vice-versa), and being able to catch spies would be a useful thing.

Haven't tried it in game, but can't you still perform espionage missions against your vassals?

I think they can still fail on a mission, but should not be caught if just walking by.

The 3.13 patch says that vassal spies can't preform missions against their master.

Yes but im already in the middle of a game.

I have an error to bring to the courts attention. When I first read of this I thought the poster was some sort of fool, a buffoon, a rube, and possibly guilty of skulduggery and was going to respond in the most snotty and passive aggressive way possible but I tell you this ladies and gentlemen of the jury that my eyes have been opened.
I direct you here:
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?p=6253888#post6253888
and to the file attached where you can see that the imports/exports on the demographics screen is backwards. You don't really need my file anyone will do but you'll see that if you manually add up the commerce your cities get from trade and what other civs get from you, you'll see that the demographics screen has it backwards and the civ in 1st in trade actually has the worst trade. I don't know about the rest of you, but I've switched to mercantilism thinking my trade was terrible and I'd be better off when actually I was making a big profit. Also I've switched to free marked and been surprised that I seem to lower my ranking in trade.
So it's a surprisingly long overlooked mistake.

You're right about this one. I've reported it as wrong/misleading in the War Academy thread of the article about the Demographics screen one and a half years ago. It's not totally unknown or something. But it's not very important either, although it is misleading.

I think that's a stock response.

Q: CE is better than SE because it's more universally useful in all game situations.
A: Yes but im already in the middle of a game.

Q: Firaxis stinks! When are they going to release an official patch!?!!
A: Yes but im already in the middle of a game.

Q: French are lousy at fighting wars.

Bhruic,

First off let me say you rock for taking on this mod!!! :goodjob:

But, I'm a little confused on these two points:

  • Fixed bug that caused the AI to trade for resources it already had (appears as grossly uneven trades)
  • Refixed trade bug

v1.11
http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=7288

I tried reading through the 73 pages of this thread, as best I could, but didn't see an answer to my problem, which is this...

Pre 3.13 patch, if I'm trading resources with another civ any resources I already have and so do they are in red on both boards (ignoring corporate needs here to keep it simple), meaning can't trade for them.

After updating to 3.13, suddenly this no longer applies in either direction when trading with vassals (other civs no change).

After applying the mod, the red returns on my side, but not for vassals.
In other words, I can't trade resources to my vassals that they already have, but can trade for anything/everything they've got, whether I need it or not?

Is there some logistical reason why this would be the case?

(I guess this would make sense if I wanted to rape a capitulate of everything they've got as tribute, otherwise not sure.)

........................................................................................

Also, adding to my confussion is another problem I'm seeing with or without the mod (not sure if there's another thread addressing this)...

Whatever resources I'm trading to a vassal decreases the number I have correctly, but the resources I'm getting from the vassal don't increase the count of what I have?  :nuke:

On this one one I'm totally confussed, as it essentially makes it pointless to trade with vassals.

 I'm not quite sure what you want to do here, sorry.
Im in the middle of a game using the 34 civ mod and a glitch has happened what has pretty much ruined my game(i didnt save that though) This patch fixes the glitch how do i get this patch into the game i am currently playing?

Sure it's not very important as long as everyone knows about it, but I'm sure there are plenty of players picking free market when they should have been picking mercantilism and mercantilism when they should have been picking free market. I know I have. It seems like it would be an easy fix, but then again I know nothing of how it would be fixed.

It seems like an easy to fix thing to me too. The only problem might be to find where this switch (between import and export) was made.

I don't quite understand why you would base the decision to change between civics on the information in this screen. It's not as if you would know the results of the change on trade before you have made the switch. So, you'll have to estimate these results yourself anyway.

I agree that most people probably don't know about this error.

I'm not sure that you can. The only thing I can think of would be to first back everything up, then copy the 34 civ mod WITH Bhruic's patch into a folder with the exact same name as the one that currently has your non-Bhruic 34 civ mod. Then, try to load up your most recent save file which will default to the identically-named mod folder that now has Bhruic's patch.

So if your old mod was in a folder called "34 Civ Mod", backup everything there, then delete everything in the folder, and put everything from the 34 Civ Mod with Bhruic's patch into the "34 Civ Mod" folder.

I don't know for sure if that'll work, but it's the only thing I can think of that might have a shot.
