Unrestricted leaders fun

Pacal of the Inca should have a furiously fast start. 2 pop whippable Terraces and good early barb defence without the need to tech anything. ..Oh yeah and you're Financial.

Pericles in charge of anything with decent starting techs. I would love Greece if their starting techs weren't so poor.

Napoleon of the Aztec seems like something that would be fun as well.

After a really fun and successful war game with Cyrus of Summeria. Would recommend it to everyone! :) It would be cool to try for a "power settle" economy strategy.

Pacal of Inca seems like a beast!

Like the fast and easy early game. Fast workers and fast terraces with + 2 culture.

Spoiler :
The hammer investment in barb defence is a thing as well. You need like 4-5 quetcha = 60 - 75 hammers. To completely shut down barbs early. Compared to a "strange" settle to get metal/horses early enough.. or god forbid.. tech archery. and 3-4 chariots = 90-120 hammers or 2-3 axmen = 70 - 115 hammers. That is in fact almost an extra worker or 2 in difference!

A powerful start indeed.. But then what do you do with it?

Where is the x factor.. exept the insanely good start ;)

Another rant about why Cyrus of summeria was so awesome.

Spoiler :
I loved the cyrus of summerian game.. cause the fast start with imperialistic. helped to fule a really strong early military push (that stayed relevant thx to char).. AND never really slowed down the economy cause of cheap courthouses.

And some reflection on how to future improve on the leader/civ pick combo to perfect the setup for my play style. Which best can be described as an early powerful push that does not stop until the world is enslaved.

Spoiler :
IN retrospect.. faster math would have improved the rush date significantly.

But what is the trade off? Imperialistic is just to good for the early city set up. Settled great generals give 2 promoted metal units or catas. Which really helps the medival warfare. Maybe charismatic isn't needed? The difference between a 2 or 3 promoted HA is not that significant.. early supermedic is not such a big thing either.. the + one happynes is huge tho..

OK...

Random rants aside Char can be switched with either creative or Phil.

Another thought.. Maybe... just maybe the 3-4 settlers hammers saved is negligible... Its mainly 6 pop wips in the capital that produce settler 2 and 3. So maybe.. the fast worker/granaries gives an even better start?...

Creative/philo and expansive... and Inca.. or maybe Sumerians..

Love how this evolves..... But god damn.. so many variables that affect each other.. so I end up changing every thing....:p:blush:

Best combination for that?

Requirements (as I see them):

Fast 3-4 cities, fast math bulb for the HA rush.
Something to save the mid game economy, (currency only helps to an extent).

Ha-ha.. ok lets just go full circle... Pacal.. with exp/financial of Sumerian.. would probably be awesome for the job :) Great tip Little Faith!

Update:

PHI/EXP (peter) of summerian.. works great! The cheap granaries and early workers are such nice boost. Phi is superb for fast math, and keeps the golden ages rolling late game! Immortal is as easy as baking a pie.. even tho I don't bake.

Like the suggestion for inca.. but I'm not sure if its worth it to get rid of the cheap and early courthouses for super warriors and cultural granaries. And giving up the wheel for mysticism also seems kind of bad.

But have to try it.. just seems broken aswell :) early game worker steals would be a breeze, and barb defence. And ofc the possible of a rushed city capture!.. but I'm not sure if I would like to "exploit" the clearly broken unit that much.

Well I don't think Agg does anything for Quechas since they already start with combat 1. An EXP leader would still be pretty good with Inca for the cheap terraces.

HC is already so good though, you arent going to find anything to pair with Inca that's much better than what you already get.

Organized would also be really strong on HC with the amount of cities he can take early. Mehmed or Darius of Inca would be pretty ridiculous.

Great tips guys!

Been thinking about it some more.. and IMO:

Izuul, agree on the Agg part.. Agg just seems like a waste of an trait.. With a pret rush.. it was fun.. but not something needed :) And cheap rax.. are yeah.. cool if you are zulu.. but not mutch else

Nate46, organized is maybe a must have for my play style.. and I find it hard to be a other civ then summerians for the cheap early courthouses.. your tips seems just ridiculous!

BUT.. i have to sleep at night, and I could not play as Inca.. I find the quetcha way to powerfull.. its like the one ring to rule them all in LOTR.. I _know_ I will abuse it if I got the power. So I just steer away all together.

But you guys help my noodel! And I now have a compromise.. Maybe not for the better. but definitely adds a level of fun.

Peter (exp/phi) of zulu! The ikhanda, can be my economic saving grase until CoL, Since i probably will have ha rax in 2-3 of my 4 starting cities for the HA rush. That gives me about... 5-10 extra gold per turn.. for a "lot" of turns :) Think having Agg is a overkill even when i know i will build rax. the EXP trait gives so much whip power that.. they can handle a rax before i can produce HA's anyway :)

And Imp's rule! for harass and rush. mid game they are a great support unit for a HA stack.

So I will try one game of that :)
