Unusual Scenario Interface Bug

The problem is this: When I use the FFH scenario, and the Revolution Mod, there is no interface. All other mods work just fine, except these two...

Here is what I am talking about...

And just to show you guys that that is the ONLY two mods that have that problem, here is the broken star scenario...

I just load the mod (through the advanced tab, as usual) and start either a FfH game, or a revolution mod game, and that happens.

If it helps, I run the BUG mod, but I don't see how that would make this happen, as the mod only effects the basic game (In Broken Star, and the WWII scenarios, there is no BUG features visible, however the "Press ALT-CTRL-O to opent the BUG menu" still pops up in the loading screen...)

You would think that worked... but it didn't. (I didn't even know that ALT-I did that...)

Any other ideas? I have posted in the Revolution mod forum, but it seems more wide-spread than that.

If it helps, I use Vista, which has caused many headaches with complatibility etc. before... But that doesn't explain why FfH USED to work (I had a nice-ish Warlord-level game running), and then, mysteriously, decided not to work.,,

[Edit] I have internet here, so keep helping me please... :D[/Edit]

Build data (Except for the mod name, everything is the same for all mods...)

Civ Version: 313
Save Version: 301
Build Version: 2.0.0.1 (81539)
Build Date: Sat Sep 22
Build: FINAL RELEASE
Mod Name: None, Mods\Revolution, Mods\FfH Age of Ice\ etc. etc.

I am running Brhuics patch and the 3.13 patch. Im sorry I forgot to mention that >.<

Is there anyone else with my problem? Or has anyone encountered this problem before, and somehow fixed it? Its quite annoying, especially as the revolutions mod is so so cool!! (Or seems that way).

This would be a real real hard game, even on Settler. Cannot initiate trade, cannot change research/luxury rate (has to be done automatically IE. too little gold), cannot cue buildings/unit creation, cannot promote, cannot upgrade, cannot cue science, cannot liberate cities (unless prompted), cannot micro-manage cities, cannot make colonies...

Winnable, sure. But almost impossible. Maybe someone could play like this :P

But, back to the bug, anyone seen this before?

there have been a few such reports for ffh - but those people that did reply had botched patches of 3.13 and after patching that was good. Your version is patched right (I assume your 2.0.0.1 is indeed 3.0.0.1 ;)).
Could you please open
documents and settings\<username>\my documents\my games\beyond the sword\civilizationIV.ini and set the following lines so that they look as posted:

Code:
; Set to 1 for no python exception popups
HidePythonExceptions = 0

(...)

; Enable the logging system
LoggingEnabled = 1

; Enable synchronization logging
SynchLog = 1

; Overwrite old network and message logs
OverwriteLogs = 1

; Enable rand event logging
RandLog = 1

; Enable message logging
MessageLog = 1

then start a mod that has this bug, quit the game however you can and post the contents of
documents and settings\<username>\my documents\my games\beyond the sword\logs
as a zip file here.

I misread your message, and started a game as well.

But here is the zip folder, as requested... there were alot of errors in the loading of the first thing (INIT XML??), and none for the rest...

[Edit] And also, the 2.0.0.1 IS infact 3.0.0.1, my mistake...[/Edit]

the log contains quite a lot of errors - I am not sure if I'll be able to look through them before the weekend.
do you use any other mods apart from Bhruic's patch?

Edit: let me rephrase this: did this also occur before you installed the BUG mod?

Errrm... the BUG mod, but I don't think that applies to this one...

If I delete the log folder, and make a new one, but only starting up the mod, not starting a game, would that help make it easier and quicker for you?

[Edit for your edit :P]Yes it did, for FfH.

Sequence of events:

Error on FfH
Install Bug Mod
Install Revolution Mod
Find Error on Revolution mod, and see its exactly the same...

I could try unloading the BUG mod, but how would I do that? It automatically starts when the game starts, and I don't know if deleting it would do anything (it could crash the game if I miss a few files...)
[/Edit]

thing is the whole error barrage includes atleast 3 errors caused by BUG mod files so I'd bet it is a problem with BUG :mischief:
I don't think new files will make it easier, thanks. It seems like some items called by BUG are either not there or altered in the mods you try to run and since BUG seems to be residing in your core game files it messes things up (thats my guess).
I would post your log - especially PythonErr.log in the BUG forum.

Either that or rename CustomAssets to RealCustomAssets before you play a mod.

BUG resides in CustomAssets? if that is the case try renaming it indeed and just start a game with one of the mods that don't work - if they work then you have proof that BUG is bugged :evil:

Uninstalling BUG fixes the problem (Im renaming CustomAssets to CustomAssetsRemoved, as recommended in the BUG forums), which is wierd, because I am SURE that the bug appeared before I installed BUG.

I've got work to do, but thankyou all SO SO SO SO SO much, as everything seems to be working (but I miss my extraordinarily long city names, and my Warrior 10 of Aachen (Mechanized Infantry) :()

I will post a bug report later on, but it seems they are really busy fixing bugs that happen in the basic game ATM :P

Problem solved.
