upgrades

I have the resources, barracks and the cash but am not able to upgrade my knights to cavalry. I am able to upgrade other units in the same cities. Is there a reason for this?

Horses and Saltpeter are required in the city that you are using along with the barracks. Check the city view for that city to be sure it has those two resources. The last two items are the gold (3x the shield difference from Knight to Calv) and movement points.

If you don't have enough gold it won't show that you are able to upgrade.

What civ are you, and is this C3C or regular Civ III?
