Uranium not being recognized?

Anyone else have this problem?

I have been playing on an island map and militarily took over an island that had uranium on it. I didnt have any before nor did I have access to oil, so this was pretty big...well after many turns I am still unable to create any destoryers or transports and my navy is so far behind that I cant do much.

I am not sure if this is a common problem or what but I have a mine there and it is connected by a railroad, there is copper two tiles over that is registering so not sure what to do?

Its almost to the point where it wouldnt make a difference in this game my navy is so far behind just curious for future games.

You need to have fission researched to be able to take advantage of the uranium. Physics only reveals it.
