USA the brain of the World

A year later, looking at it... dumb

As a Christian, I believe that humans (Adam and Eve) and dinosaurs lived at the same time.

BTW, hillarious switzerland pic.

I´m a christian also, I attend every sunday to mass but this is fact: the oldest human fossils found were about 2.000.000 years old, and the most recent dinosaur fossils were about 65.000.000 years old. And the pope accepted evolution theory is TRUE. Don´t be a fundamentalist.

Yeah, I'm sure your grandfathers hated us too after we helped liberate your country from Hitler. Saying you'd rather die than being governed by America is pretty harsh. At least under our rule you'd be able to vote for who you want in office.

Yeah, and your vote would count for nothing as you´d be a part of a ridiculous indirect electoral system. BTW, Puerto Rico IS under your rule and they can´t vote (at least not as much as a true state). And that ´liberating´ stuff is rubbish, D-Day and the invasion of Western Europe were made just to stop the USSR (not that it would have been much better than Hitler, but it was still so), as Germany was already doomed. Until half the war had passed, America didn´t care (or should I say since 1933, year in which hitler took power). Why didn´t the US respond to Hitler´s annexation of Austria or Czechslovakia if they were so interested in mantaining democracy?

Turn off Fox News.

Are you joking or stupid, it is hard to tell.

Invasion of western Europe was to prevent soviet expansion.

Look, i´m no stalinist, but germany was crumpling in 1944, and i´m being serious. The german troops in normandy were reserves. Without d-day germany would have possibly resisted a couple more years, but it would have fallen eventually.

Sorry for the double post though.

So you're saying that America shouldn't have invaded europe and let Hitler continue killing the Jews?

No he's aying AMerica sucks and he's willing to make up whatever BS it takes to convince people he's right.

No Xi12.
I never said that. I just said that the real motivation behind the invasion wasn´t that. The US govt (or the UK in the 1800s, or Spain in the 1500s, or Rome, or any government of any world power in any century) has never worried the smallest bit for the people in other countries (i mean, is invading iraq and killing 10000 civilians a true liberation). So while the cause of the invasion was (IMO) to stop soviet advance, the effects were quite good. As I said earlier, the soviets werent much less totalitarian than the nazis.

h4ppy, i´m sorry if you didn´t like the tone of my previous posts. I never said the US sucks, I´ve got family there. I´m just against the established view of d-day and the invasion of W europe as the single defining factor of WWII. Berlin was actully taken by the Soviets, you know. I don´t really hate the US, nor Americans (I used to think you were idiots, but then i realized most of the other people in the world are idiots too). And i´m quite angry about American foreign policy, and FTAA, and your government´s continual invasion of anywhere in the world.

I recomend you Michael Moore´s books Stupid White Men and Dude, Where´s my Country, specifically the ´Idiot Nation´ chapter in SWM and ´Mike´s Terrorism prevention guide´in DWMC.

I REALLY didn´t want to offend anyone. About the "Turn off Fox News" thing: really, turn it off.

Also, about your sig H4ppy, eu comprende o que voce esta dizendo :p (I can understand it). And Iraq/Irak can be spelled both ways (though the q is official), as it is actually a translation. Same for Usama/Osama/Ousama ben/bin laden/ladin (and i´ve seen it spelled all these ways).

is invading iraq and killing 10000 civilians a true liberation
You can't have a war without civilian casilities.

Then why have a war? Support local guerrillas, such as the Kurds, the way Reagan supported Lech Walesa and his Solidarity movement in Poland in the 80s. I´m sure the Iraqis would have preferred being dominated a little longer rather than losing ther families to ´collateral damage´.

alajandro, shut up and take it to the off-topic board where some established people can debate you on this.

And please, close the book. No really, close the book

Evedentally you have never hear of this places opinion on Micheal Moore, here's a hint, we all hate him. What I mean is that 9 out of ten people here dislike his debating methods. He took quite a pounding in the last Micheal Moore thread we had and only like two peopole defended him. (and they did it badly)
