Use of Info Addict Mod for GOTM

Should we use the Info Addict Mod for GOTM play?

At this point, I'd probably suggest that's the direction we move in actually, and in the process create something that we're all happy with, which improves on the enjoyment of the game and access to information in an even, clear manner, without changing the rules.
This is, of course, our goal. :)

Trade Opportunities provides existing information more clearly. Although Info Addict doesn't change the rules is does give information you wouldn't be able to get normally. I'd quite like Civup (a collection of UI mods including Trade Opportunities), but it would slow the game down for me.

I downloaded Info Addict, and I like it. I will stipulate the point that it provides information not normally available. I counter that in my opinion, that information should be available -- it was available in Civ4. I will probably use the mod in my personal games.

But, you didn't ask if I like it. You asked if I think it should it be used in the GOTM? If the poll were still open, I would vote No. I think GOTMs should be as inclusive as possible. I want to see many people playing, more people that I can learn from. I believe that a more basic, minimally-modded game would better accomplish that.

Okay, that's what I really want to vote for, but it wasn't there -- Option 3: find a compromise.

Perhaps an "Info Addict Lite" could be developed, something that makes already accessible information easier to access, but which does not provide access to information which is currently hidden from us.

Perhaps it could be a rotating option, used in some games but not in others.
