Sweet! I see it as a nod to the old Chris Crawford game Balance of Power (which Sid mentioned as having inspired him to create the original Civ). In that game you fight a superpower cold war, and every confrontation was a game of chicken -- one side had to back down, or the risk of accidental war would increase with the tensions, until it got to defcon1 (intentional nuclear war). A black screen then came up and said (among other things) 'Everyone Loses."
I hope they keep this one in game sounds like a lot of fun.
But it should only activate when you nuke the same place over and over again.
Hope it is turned off in multiplayer due to poor losers exploiting it.
that's funny but unrealistic
I'm still doubtful until I see a save or a corroborating screenshot.

Just how many is "so many" nukes? And are we talking ICBMs only or do tactical nukes count too?
Very true, I mean look the earth can take a direct hit from a commet miles and miles wide, with more force than most of our nuclear arms put together.
You have to remember that they have to put things in for the children, and the dumbed down American market.
Get a sence of homour, geez.
Erm.. I've seen two in this thread already?
Open up those eyes?

Both posts with screenshots are from Visceral, and he made the thread. That's not verification. That could be nothing at all.
A long time ago, I used to play Guild Wars with a man named Derek. He would hook the engine and replace weapon textures in the running program. He'd screenshot these texture-swapped weapons and post them on forums. He'd claim that they were a rare drop. People were often fooled for dozens of pages. People are credulous.
I'm skeptical until someone else suffers the same event or posts a save that lets multiple members experience it first hand.

Yeah not to mention nukes don't work that way, their blast isn't meant to penetrate, it spreads across the surface.
