I disagree. Nukes are there to be avoided using. I really, really don't understand statements on the lines of "I love to see a nuke explode". I know it's a game, but even so, there are other wasy to play than starting a nuclear holocaust.

After a long search this is what I found: the phenomenon talked about here belongs exklusively to the NextWar Mod. And because this is the case you may feel a disire to turn it off by modifying the following file via text editor:
C:\Programs\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods\Next War\Assets\Python\CvEventManager.py

Just change the values for the following constants as below:
g_iNumNukesWarningMessage = -1
g_iNumNukesGameOver = -1

...and enjoy nuking unlimited.

Can you actually PLAY Multiplayer in the Next War mod? And has anyone played a game, only to have someone crack the earths core in 'defence'

The concept is so ridiculous .

It's funny, but I doubt any man-made bombing of the earth's surface could actually do this. Kill everyone by ruining the environment and causing radiation poisoning (both direct and towards food/water supplies)? Sure. Break the world like an egg? That's probably reserved for interstellar collisions or a really really big bomb the scale of which has never been managed detonating INSIDE the earth (so big I can't think of anything that could possibly accomplish it outside of a dbz episode or something).

I just got done playing, and losing a game because of this. I'm not sure if it's a new random event feature or not. I started heavily using nukes and got a warning about how scientists thought the earths crust was like an eggshell and continued use of nukes might split the earths core. Whatever I thought, I had never seen this before and just ignored it.
