Is it possible to use the same resource icon on two or more different resources or must each resource use it's own unique icon in order to function properly in game. In other words, for instance, could two or three different types of fish point to the same fish resource icon on resources.pcx? So for instance I could have a resource called salmon and one called cod and they would both use the fish icon. Or would this cause bugs in the game?

Thanks.

This would work absolutely fine. In fact they can even have the same civipedia article.

Thanks kairob. I thought they probably would be OK but I know there are some strange bugs with resources sometimes so I just wanted to make sure. I guess really the only thing I need to worry about is having over 32 resources.

In the editor you are allowed to add up to 1439 resources icons, but to avoid the phantom resources bug, you can only have up to 32 as strategic/luxury resources in aproper placement (best at the first 32 places).

But the special formula you pointed me to before, that has been found to not work correctly after all has it not? I seem to recall Badkharma or someone saying that the special formula of intermixing strategic and regular resources is no longer considered viable.

If I recall the discussion of which you speak it was concerning ways to have more than 32 resources. AFAIK the above method works perfectly and is the simplest way to handle things. :)

Oops, Virote has clarified it, I meant more than 32 lux/strats.
