UU improving/adding and Tech Tree reorganization

Alright, so the idea to do my own "Mod" for Civ3 Complete has been buzzing
around my head for a few days. Specifically, the concept of adding a second UU
to each CIV and changing a few that need improvement (my eyes are on you
F-15) and rearranging some Tech's on the Tech Tree so that unit's aren't
invented only to become instantly obsolete. I want to give a Naval Unit to each
of the Seafaring nations as well, so that's another goal.

What I need help with is New Unique Unit Ideas and advice where to put certain
techs

So far the list of new UU's looks like this:
-United States- "Navy SEAL" 10/8/1 Marine Replacement with an operational range
of 6 (ala Paratrooper)
-Scandinavia- "Longboat" 2/1/3 Galley Replacement with a transport capacity of 3
-France- "Chevalier" 3/5/2 or 5/3/2 Knight Replacement
-Greece/Rome/or Carthage- "Trireme" 2/2/2 Galley Replacement with transport
capacity of 2

That's all I got so far. My other brainstorms are:
English Longbowman (Longbowmen Replacement)
Chinese Cho-ko-nu (Longbowmen Replacement)
US M1 Abrams (Modern Armor Replacement[I would remove the F-15 as the US UU.])
Korean Turtleship (Frigate?? Replacement)

So as you might be able to tell, I'm a little short on ideas. Any imput qould be helpful.

Bad idea, I would go with something earlier in time if you want 2 UU's per country. Minutemen comes to mind.

Minutemen would be riflemen replacement, correct? Or perhaps a musketmen?
