That man speaks the truth. :stupid:
Once we have matthewv's latest version we can test it - then I'll start a new thread.

Minor issue, only happened once so far: Started a new Moon Map game, with the Philosophical/Populous (I think it was that combo) ASEC guy, ended up with Gerhardt Köln starting near enough to me that as soon as he built his city, I saw his border and came into contact with him.

Edit: Also, keep up the good work, looks great!

Thanks. I have never seen this, but matthewv said he is working on the map scripts so this can't happen. Keep checking since the new version is coming soon!

I had that problem once with Francoise Renaudot, and she went on to soundly thrash me at my own mod....

Hey-ho. :shake:

Yes this seems to be a problem that keeps croping up once in a while. Last night, I even had it were 3 guys started in a row. Becuase of this it is now first on my priority list to fix.

Good idea. However, the fact that the entire map is colonisable should count for something. Perhaps you could reduce the number of civs on the lower-size maps?

I could put you can easily control the number of players when you start a custom game so this is not absolutly essential.

True.

Realistically it's entirely likely that civs would pick spots wherever the He3 is, no matter how close they are to one another. In game though I can see where that would suck, but would make for an interesting turf war. :p

True, If you really want I could post two map scripts, one with evenly spaced starting positions and one without.(won't take me any additional time to do this)

Do it! The more the merrier! :whipped:

:groucho: .

Yeah, I like that idea.

I was also thinking of another thing about realism.... what are the odds on everyone settling a colony in the same year? Would it be possible to stagger the settling over a period of 1-10 years? Sure some people would start behind, but that's a fact of life! Maybe they'd get another free tech because they'd learn from other's mistakes or through espionage?

should be possible, though I would not count on having this in tomorrow's version.

I just wanted to see if it was a good idea. We'll have a laundry list of things for the next version.

Looks like we might be working our way towards a v.0.20A sooner rather than later, then!

downloaded this it wont finish initializing had to reboot my computer...is this a working mod? I would assume it is due to the fact it is in the completed modpacks section? So far I downloaded the link from the first post installed into the mods folder and tried to run this. Is there anything else I need to make this work?

Not sure if this has been pointed out or not... Dont have time to read all 14 pages.

Was just about to try it out, loaded the MOD and noticed somethings got reset in the config file. Not sure why this is being reset but it is.

Seems like everything went back to install version. For example I use set resolution 1280x 800 and it went to 0x0 so default. Name was reset to my PCs 'Owner' name etc.

Kind of annoying.
