Van01 - A Newbie Hope

OK, resuming now, will make a shrine.
 
Well, here's the summary:

Hadrumetum was founded, and began construction on a Chariot. Hadremetum was built one square south of the sign. We were then at -3 gpt, 100% sci.

A missionary from the founding of Confucianism appeared, and was sent to Carthage. In three turns, Carthage was about to grow, and become angry, so the missionary would deal with this.

In a barbarian attack, one Chariot was killed, but Utica was successfully defended. Chariots began to pour out of the cities now. Around this point, the copper got connected to the empire.

Then, we got a Great Prophet, and built Kong Miao. This set our gold at +0 gpt, 100% sci.

Throughout the course of the turnset, OB were declared with both Cathy and Joao. Speaking of Foreign relations, Pacal is kind of pissed that we're not Hindus.

Bandits attacked a field outside of Carthage, so we spent 10 gold to deal with them. Also, barbarians attacked our copper, but it was protected.

Eventually HBR was in, so research was set to Archery, in order to get our UU. Speaking of horses, at the moment, the odds for an unpromoted chariot to beat the archer in the barb city is 19%. Oh, and there's two archers there.

Carthage finished the first axeman, and began work on a settler.

Archery came in quickly, and so research was set to Math (as of now, we're only one turn in, so feel free to change).

Funny story on the last turn: Joao demanded that we switch to Hinduism. I refused, and then I see that tornadoes have destroyed stuff in Portugal. Looks like our gods really are better than theirs.

The place where the sign is seems alright, regardless of the lack of fresh water. The other good places seem quite a distance away.

Also, I'm thinking that since we have OB with everyone, we should get some missionaries out soon, to raise money. Also, the city after that should wait upon where the iron is.
 
carthage is unhappy. May I suggest whipping a confucianist temple there?

Yeah, I didn't adjust it while the settler was completing, but it will be whipped for a library (not shown). We can then control the population with a scientist.

IHT #145 425BC - Hadrumetum: switch to a granary build and do some MM to get a few hammers. Still a hammer poor location, but lots of food potential.

#146 410BC - building roads, farms, and busting fog.
#147 395BC - Utica: Axe -> library

#149 365BC - Pyramids BIDL (checking the Wonder page shows it was Germany).
#150 350BC - Carthage: settler -> library (will whip this).

Somethings to note:
* Archer barb at Hippo. We have an Axe and Num Cav on defense.
* Working building a road up to Hippo.
* Hadrumetum set for what hammers I could get. Granary will still take quite a while. Cottages going up all around it.
* Barb city is surrounded by chariots, but they can't take the city.

* Chariots are guarding the fog in the south. Don't forget to check on them.
* New Barb city in NW. Our chariot just defeated another warrior and will need to heal.
 
Won't be able to get to this tonight as I have a work function to attend for my girlfriend. That gives us some time to sit back and take a look at the next course of action. I will be playing tomorrow night. Any suggestions?
 
Was just looking at the save.

I'd say go for construction next and maybe consider attacking Pacal? He's close and doesn't have many cities yet. So stack of axes, our UU and a few cat's should be enough to take him out.
 
Alright, research will head towards construction. I'll also get a stack together for Pacal. I may not be able to attack this turn set, but I'll have it ready for whoever is next. If I do attack, should I be capturing his cities or razing them?

Are we still on 20 turn sets?
 
We're kinda boxed in here with more or less sucky land, so attacking Pacal and keeping his better cities is definetly in order.

Nothing has changed really, produced a few more units and continue to fog bust. Didn't have the troops to take out any Barb camps. The following is amassing near our northern borders for the attack on Pacal:
