Vanilla to Conquests: Expansion Pack or Complete?

I own Civ 3 Vanilla on a shiny new iMac and had played it on a really old imac for the previous 5 or so years (slowly). I've read a bunch of Civ 3 stories here that all take place on Conquests, and it looks like a really good expansion pack.

However, I can't find any information on whether Conquests is available as an expansion pack on the Mac for Vanilla, or that I must go and buy Complete with my previous ownership of Vanilla counting for naught. Any ideas?

BTW the vanilla is fully patched to 1.29f b2. Never ran this patch on the old iMac; only found it after installing Civ3 on the new mac. Naming winning units is fun; never done it before!

The expansion packs where never ported to the mac individually, but Aspyr, not MacSoft, ported the complete package to the mac, unexpectedly, a couple of years later.
MacSoft is now out of the civ business.

The complete version for the mac contains mainly Conquest civ, there is also a PTW executable included, but unsupported. (But it works O.K.) The vanilla version is not included. So if you plan to play vanilla games, keep your MacSoft disk around. (although I don't see why. PTW is almost as good, and even then, I think you'll prefer conquest)

The difference between the versions isn't just that the expansion versions have extra content in the form of more civ, more units, more wonders, and the ability to play specially crafter scenarios, but there are also several core rules changes!
It is for this reason that there is a separate PTW executable included in the C3C version.

Example:
In PTW and vanilla corruption is less severe, and you have the FP to serve as a second low corruption core, and ring city placement helps fight corruption. Also, specialist only give 1 gpt or 1 beaker.
In C3C, ring city placement is no longer helping, and the FP is far less effective, but the uncorruptible specialist citizens are far more powerful.

Well, then I'll go fix the Wikipedia article that says Conquests had a Mac version.

Conquests does have a Mac version. It's called Civ3 Complete, and it's published by Aspyr, but you just can't buy it as a separate expansion kit for your MacSoft vanilla.

Exactly - it doesn't have Conquests as a separate product for sale, so no mac version of the Conquests expansion pack.
