How would you know where vbraun is, you are never on Gogf's forum :p

Hey all, I'm interested in trying a sucession game though I've never played one before. I'm a consistent Monarch player. I read through some of this thread to get the feel for how things are done. If you have room and need a player let me know.

Pre-flight – 670 AD – Well here I am a hundred years later. I’m glad we have Oddible since this has been the Andvruss-Bugsy-Ville game, and we just skipped andvruss. :eek:

We have five horsemen that need to be upgraded and not enough cash with knights costs 120G each…ouch! Checking the other civs, every one is poor. No cash to be gotten there.

I upgrade one knight. I might be able to launch the war late in this set of turns. We presently have an average military compared to Austria.

The Temple of Artemis has made us culturally strong. We’ll hold off getting Education as long as possible.

IBT – Palenque: Galley=>Galley
Tikal: Med Inf=> Knight
Lagartero: Duct=> Market
Lazapa: Library=>Barracks

1. 680 AD – At least we have a ton of Med Inf. We can probably start the war as soon as most of the Med Inf get to the front. Send a suicide galley towards the Byzantines.

IBT – Chichen: Med Inf=> Knight
Calakmul: Worker=> Worker
Galley sinks.

2. 690 AD – Marching to the front.

3. 700 AD – Our galley has a pink boarder! [dance] We’ll be there next turn. We’ll upgrade one more horse next turn and then the war will begin. Chemistry comes in next turn.

IBT – Chemistry is researched. Select Metallurgy due in 14 at 50% science. That puts us at +82 gpt. A combination of cash and science.
Palenque: Galley=>Library
Yax: worker=> worker
Bonampak: Galley=> Trebuchet
Kaminal&%$#: Library=> Duct (I hate these city names!)
The east wing of the palace gets a second story.

4. 710 AD – Meet the Inca. Smoke-Jag is polite. They have 9 cities, 13G, and are down Theology and Gunpowder.
Send another galley across towards Byzantine.

Upgrade a horse for 120G. Time for war.

IBT – Smoke asks us to leave. Sure.
Arnhem: Med Inf=> Court

5. 720 AD – Declare war on Austria.

4/4 horse AC kills 3/3 Archer (-1hp) and Villach joins the Mayan Republic. Two resisters. I start a courthouse, since we automatically get a temple.

@ Klagenfurt: 5/5 AC kills 4/4 spear (-1hp) Interesting - an AC is 5/5, but still considered a veteran. :hmm:

I’m going to send all the mounted units to the eastern part of the front and all the ground units to the west. The idea is to divide Austria in two with the Med Inf and clean up the eastern portion with mounted units.

IBT – On the Austrian counter our JT goes 2 for 2 killing a sword and enslaving another.

We get a second story on the west wing.

6. 730 AD – Austria now has pikes.

IBT – The counter this time is one Med Inf who is flawlessly defeated at the gates of Landeck

7. 740 AD – For some unknown reason the food shipment to our new Austrian cities has been lost. The logistics commander’s job is threatened if he doesn’t feed those people within the next 10 turns!! :mad:

There are two more cities in the west. I think I will try and take those and then bring Chucky to the peace table.

IBT – We go 3 for 3 during the counter. Austria loses a med inf, an archer, and a spear. There is a large force coming out of Austria towards us though. Details to follow.

The Austrians refuse our envoy. So sad, too bad.

After action Report: I’ll stop at 750 AD to put us back on the natural turn rotation.

There are several mounted units that could attack Weiz next turn. We have almost accomplished all our goals for this war. It will be up to Ville on whether we will want to continue the war or get peace.

So I was a bit weary from the combat :D andvruss is the man.
 
Patched to 1.15 and checked out the save. Noticed we have an embassy with Portugal but no RoP. Not much harm in it since they can't get to us til the end of the age and it spreads goodwill (though you probably shouldn't mention the Dutch :spank: ).

A consideration in not extending the war beyond Weis is the potential to produce one of this age's many wonders in Chichen. So many good ones to choose from. Smiths is probably my favorite of the age but both Sistine and Bach's are great for morale. And of course we will soon bring the the entire island under Mayan leadership and so Magellan's would bring us swiftly to our sister island.

Well, uh, there's my first 2 cents of the game, I'll, uh, just put down the crown and wait my 10 more turns :king:
