Version 2.8 discussion

could i suggest retitling the leader trait "Deceiver" to something else? to me this is just a little, well, a little negative. i just dont know if i think of spying as deceiving per se.

perhaps Manipulative, Stealth, or Beguiling?

are you really deceiving when you ratchet up your defenses against spying?

oh, file this under the minor annoyances of yet another post. in the same thought pattern, i find Nomad and Seafaring not beneficial enough. just my call here, but compare those traits to what something like Scientific or Creative mean to your civilization over time...

Could you remove the  from the shaft mine? It makes keeping happiness in early game hard.

I might be wrong as I havent tried this strategy myself but........
it is possible in RoM 2.71 to pillage your own lands, so what you can do is send a unit on the shaft mine and pillage it 1 time, then it will become a "normal" mine without the .

And now to something completely different.....

As you can see one the picture, the Govenor really needs some tuning. In this example it would rather take 5 food instead of 5 food, 1 production and 3 commerce. I think it is "scared" that the hamlet becomes a village and looses the extra food earlier steps of the cottage/hamlet. But the city is already at its max size regarding happiness (if it grows one more time it will become unhappy).

I've noticed the same thing with the auto-manager for citizens. I've been suggesting that the better solution would just be to take the +1 food off of cottages and hamlets, particularly since at the start of the game, farms only provide +1 food as well.

I think this relates to Better BtS AI functions - I'm not sure if they have yet improved governor AI but I recall reading about some changes to it (that might be made in future patches). So if they enhance governor AI, those changes will come to RoM as well at some point.

Perhaps you shouldn't build mines on every hill in early game ;)

I want Chickens, ME WANT CHICKEN!
can we have a chicken resource?

ME NO ANGRY , BUT ME AGREE
Chicken is the most eated animal across the world , so , even when will be a little repetitive , could be in
Anyway , what i miss the most is a couple of CIVII resources : seal and buffalo , both very usefull for arctics cities. I really think this two could help a lot for cities in the cold.

what about keep the food bonus of village/town and one hammer they are small cities with small amount of agriculture and a small amount of industry. and they demand protection for not be razed(the AI love to raze them)this justify a high bonus.

farms could evolve to +2 food because the agricultors improve the prodution selecting variations adapted to a region by trial and error. its like that since the beggining of agriculture.

i also agree that there should be more resources for the arctic land styles. even the AI wont go into that land until very late in the game cause its just a waste of time unless there are like 2 or 3 furs there.
Also i noticed you have crusader units now but i never really saw an opportunity to go on a crusade sanctioned by the pope. there should be an election for a crusade against the nearest rival holy city. (i.e. and in real life the christians could vote to "crusade" against mecca, the muslim holy city. Only crusader units could participate and when captured then there could somehow be a new AI player created out of that city. Kingdom of Jerusalem, principality of antioch, edessa, and tripoly ect.) it sounds like it would be complicated to play but it would be fun.

And soy, one of the most eaten grains in the world, as well.

Isn't it redundant for the Olympics to remove all unhappiness AND give +1 happy per 20% culture slider? (or was it circus maximus)

what about reclaiming the holy land (if Christian holy city gets captured by heathen) and shouldn't Islam get some form of holy war units?
