Version 2.x bug reports

I have a weird bug I noticed with 2.63 version of Rise of Mankind. Every time I sent a spy into enemy territory, the next turn they disappeared. No text saying that he had been caught, the unit just disappeared. I then opened a new map in the world builder and put 50 spys in an enemy city. The next turn, every single one was gone.

I have had exactly the same problem in RoM WoC 2.63. It does not occur in 2.7Test1.

Now that i got BTS runinng on my system I wanted to play this mod. I downloaded the Megapack and copied all the files in the BTS\Mods directory.
Each time I want to load the mod, I get tons of XML errors and the Game crashes when I want to start a new session.

Did anyone of you have the same problem?

Is BtS patched to 3.17? ie latest BtS upgrade?

Which version of RoM? You need to install RoM 2.62 before megapack 2.62. Same for RoM 2.5 and its megapack. Megapacks don't work with other versions eg RoM 2.63 WoC.

In 2.7Test1 the International Monety Fund is supposed to enable the World Bank national wonder but I can build it anyway.

BtW Zappara, I like what you have done with cart paths and food from plots, although both were a bit of a shock at first I soon realised the changes ballanced early development nicely.

Hi Zap, Back in the world and glad to see all the changes to RoM. You've been busy. I have a problem with 2.63 though. I get MAF's on any reload. Goes all the way through the reload and then 'has an error and must close'. Never had problems before. Checked page size settings etc. No differences I can find. Any thoughts?

I'm not sure this is exactly a bug, and it it is not THAT important, but I'm pretty sure it shouldn't work like this anyway. I was playing the japs, and I had a samurai with the waidan promotion that eventually got too strong and I attached a GG to it. When I could upgrade it, I eventually RECEIVED gold for the upgrade: -100% upgrade cost from the attached GG and -20% from waidan. I'm pretty sure it must also work with pankration and upgrade discount from Sun Tzu's War Academy. I'm not a modder, but I imagine there must be a simple way to set a -100% limit, right? :D

I have a problem with Incan Empire
Unique building is Terrace which replaced Granery
but when i build Modern granary
the old Terrace was destroyed
but
I can build Terrace again!!!!!!

I used 2.7Test1
but i am not sure it occur with original 2.62 or not

I updated RoM 2.5 to (2.62 and then to) 2.63 and now the game crashes after 2-6 turns. When I reload the last saved game, it crashes again after a few turns. I doubt it's a memory issue since it's happening in an early game with only a "large" map.

I've attached the log files.

I saw this in 2.5 also.

same with me

no megapack, graphics-settings low, just installed the patch 2.63 on a before stable 2.62 version... (on wich I had a VERY nice 60h game last week :D) (EDIT: and enabled the No Building Graphics module)

Another bug, I think: For a religious victory I try to eliminate religions from foreign cities. This worked fine in my own cities, but not on foreign ones. Save attached, I don't see I'm doing anything wrong: me and Zara both have civic=intolerant, both the right state religion, of course there is a second religion in his city, that i want to remove... what's wrong?

You can't eliminate religions from enemy cities unless you enable the specific mod feature which allows this. I'm not sure if it was in RevDCM option page (ctrl+alt+o) or if it had to be enabled by modifying GlobalDefinesAlt.xml file.

Why did you use 2.5 as your base? :crazyeye:

2.6Full should've been the base Mod to update to 2.62 or 2.7test1.

If you then patched 2.6Full ->2.62->2.63 you would be following the patch process as laid out by zappara.

Also the 2.6Full to 2.7test1 patch path is for testing. This is the path I've used. And it has been very stable.

Another weird thing (bug, maybe?) is that influence driven war in ROM 2.63 has a huge effect. Lose one unit, and the enemy gains +95.55% of your culture, kill one, a similar event occurs. The influence seems very extreme, I always remember it being no more than 10% a unit.

I am sorry if this has been posted before, but I didn`t check the whole thread.
In version 2.63 the strength of the Landsknecht apparently wasn`t adjusted. He sports a stregth of 5, which makes him totally useless (even with the boni).

I found a possible bug with Modern Granary and Pyramids. Modern Granary is supposed to upgrade Granary, but if you also control the Pyramids, you can have both Granaries in a single city, for double health bonus and 80% food stored after growth.

I found it in GlobalDefinesAlt.xml file (OC_FOREIGN_INQUISITIONS), and it works now. But as the AI won't use that, it's probably gonna be a great but unfair religious victory. :mischief: But anyway, thank you, Zap!

I suggest to adjust the entry at sevopedia. It says, foreign inquisition is possible if both players match the prereqs...

You get a ton of error messages if you change the Mod folder name. That could be it.

I went back, deleted the entire RoM folder, installed 2.6Full and then patched to 2.63. Now the game CTD even more often than more!

I suppose now I should try uninstalling the entire game and installing everything from the beginning?

Hi, I posted in other forum, but perhaps this is the adequate.

The leaderhead of the Iraqui-Saddam Hussein appears in blank, causing CTDs when they try to diplomacy contact with me

Regards ;)
