Version 2.x bug reports

Plz help me with this. I cant play multiplayer games with my family cause I cant join the hosts game... When I push the button, it just doesnt react.


Can someone help me?

I am playing the newest version of ROM.

I think you need some sort of addon to be able to play online. Not sure if it works with 2.4 though. RoM is generally meant for single player.
 
There was a multiplayer patch for RoM2.2.

Have no idea if it will work for 2.4.

Oh that one. The multiplayer fix is included in 2.4 and it counters the pioneer/settler problem. Thats it. This issue is something totally new.
 
Thank you for your effort in making this mod; sadly, I can't comment on how "cool" it is because it will never initialize!!!

I enabled error logging and attached the files time stamped from the last crash; I loaded the mod from the advanced tab on the BTS main screen, mod restarted, I attempted to start a game from scratch and it crashed as it was trying to start the game. I have not seen any successful remedy for this in the forums, and any help would be much appreciated.

I am playing the 2.41 mod in BTS 3.17, running on XP (sp 2).

Nevermind my last post. It seems that even though I'd downloaded and installed the 3.17 BTS patch, it had never "stuck"; after I reinstalled BTS, the 3.17 patch, and RoM 2.4, the title screen changed and RoM runs smoothly, so far. Now I can join the chorus of well-wishers to say "awesome mod"!
 
Long time no write for me at this forum.

But lets cut to the case. Ive finally started playing Civ Rom edition of course and I got a game everything finally clicked and got an great start and were in front of the enemy at allmost everything so as you might have guessed this game could last for a time.

Finally got to the modern era and playing at hemisphere with 3 main islands I started to take over my island and at this attached savefile the game just ctds:sad: I've play with all the settings at high and all the details but tried to put all settings to low and couldnt still avoid the ctd.

Large map btw. Would computerspecs help "bugfinding" or is it just a softwareissue?

Anyways thanks for help and to the modder... fukc you for stealing all those hours of pure pleasure and fun:D keep up the great work, checking in daily for updates:goodjob:

Got a Runtime Error from the Microsoft Visual C++Library trying to load the Rom 2.4 Huge Earth 18 civs map (tried again, same thing)...:( The game basically just freezes up after that.
 
Hi, I'm playing with 2.2 version and, when reach the year 1000 about, the game slowing down strongly: more I advance in the game this problem get worse. Now between two turns I'm waiting 5/6 minutes!!! What happens? THe 2.4 version get better?

EDIT: ok i think i have it figured out, here is a person that somewhat had the same problem, just changed one line is all??? in BOTH areas. (So thx to Capo for asking and EmperorFool for answering)

CTD = crash to desktop. Means there is a serious game-crippling bug. I am unable to finish a RoM mod game without eventually getting some kind of crippling crash (only been playing on large/huge maps).

I'm getting a CTD "Initialize Renderer Failed..." error message every time I try loading ROM (patch v2.41 with Extra CivPack v1.2), I'm on xp btw.

i've been playing rom 2.41 for the past few weeks and have been loving the mod. however, when i reach close to the modern age, the game just crashes to the desktop. didn't have any problems before. i have windows vista 64, 512mb video card and 4gb of ram. have no idea what is going on. this is what it looks like on the problem report:

Do all other mods without the bug mod work: YES

Graphic card: Toxic Radeon HD3870
CPU: Amd Am2 x6000 dual core processor [3.0 ghz clocking freq]
(though I doubt that it's a hardware thing, it's 100% software)

No Idea how to fix, I tried changing registry entries, no difference, still no interface

Anyone has a fix?
 
welcome everyone! i need help with this mode: every time i reload game i get error: "memory allocation failure - exiting program. Reason: bad allocation"
how to overcome this?

my config: Athlon A64 3000+, 1Gb ram, Ati Radeon X800XL
