VertNes-Worlds of Altor.

Oh... cheers for breaking the suspense :p  We are allowed some suspense right? I though you were teasing at a quest!

So nevermind, off to Larthorn!

You could have said some more. If you just ramdomly say, when your meant to be leaving Larthorn, I going to tail some men your mod gets confused. Yes you are allowed suspense but you build up suspense so people know what going on just not what's going to happen next.

Sorry for confusing you.

If you hadn't told me it was NWAG, I could have stalked out his character for a good while, seen him doing naughty things an all sorts... but thats because I thought you were hinting to a quest, not about a PC.

Nevermind, forget what I said.. I was merely trying to react to the update.

Abaddon you wouldn't have time to see him perform necromancy because that takes days (game time) and you have a few hours (game time) before you set off.

It doesnt matter now, but potentially I could have decided to scrap going to the city until I knew what was going on.

I broke my cold enough to write down a list of things I own and will buy...

Own:
A Hunter's Knife. Leather studded with horn. Short bow. Long Bow. Back Pack. Amulet. Waterskin with beer (no idea how it got there. The alchoholic basement?)
30 Daras = 3000 Sari.

Friends. I want from the Market:

A Whet Stone, Ten Sari
A hempen Rope, five lengths, Five Sari
Rations, for a fortnight and one, 15 Sari
Pouch, two, Ten Sari
Pot, Iron, two= 20 Sari
Lamp = 1 s
Blanket = 1 s

Also, a small Hatchet. Maximum 50 Sari.
A Keg of tanner's oil, Maximum 1 Daras.

After writing he stared at the ceiling. He though of fate, how it lead him here. How it lead him arround. How it lead him to courage and cowardence...

He wrote: True Courage comes battle from those what contain True Cowardance...

He fell back after a cough, drank some of the mysterious beer and fell asleep.

You can't get a small hand axe or hatchet for 50 Sari but you can get a 5l keg of oil for 1 Daras. Otherwise cool I will change the update to say you don't have a cold.

I am here for eight more hours. Tell me, how much does TANNER's OIL cost? It is an oil used to treat skins and to get tanner's acid by rubbing it on trees and washing the acid down. Perferably oak trees. Oil doesn't work as well as the Acid but it is easier to make and can be used to get acid.

The Hatchet... How much does a small one with a broad face cost?

Also, I am gone after today so just say he got a little better but still needs rest. :)

Tanner's oil I don't know much about but I doubt it is that hard to make compared to vegetable oil so the price would be the same. If it is a lot harder to make till me and I will make it more expensive. You maybe able to find a small one for 15 Darai but no less. It has just occured to me that the iron pot should cost more but don't worry if you have brought one then a price change won't apply to you just to later purcheses.

Ok, then buy the hatchet for 15 Darali and 5 Sari :). Why? Better then the worst.

Ugggh.... No tanning for me. Raw hide is the way to go. :)

My Reason

Hakara decides his illusions are too weak, and decides to try some practice. After finding a suitable hiding place for his undead (reinforced by the best illusions Hakara thinks he can realistically make), he goes into the village to practice creating illusions of a sort that aren't harmful (e.g- creating an illusion of a perseon with him).

Once caught, Hakara will admit some of the truth- that he is an ex-Magi, just practicing his illusions. He makes out that it is just innocent practice for a skill he'll need later.

Hakara generally goes around for the next few days practicing his magic (particularly Illusions) and making as many Undead as he thinks he can get away with.

NWAG at the moment you have not made any undead. So I assume you hid the corpses in the hiding place instead. To make the undead write a describtion of the ritual and more importantly tell me thats what you want to do.

Hakara

You feel a bit more confident in your illusions. After four days you can just about fool the average person that a man is walking beside you when no-one is. You are slowly making progress.

While continuing in the same manner when possible, Hakara begins creating the undead. (OOC: Am I supposed to make up how the ritual works?)

EDIT: By that, I meant going around with the illusion of the man, and trying to make what he can do more complicated.

Oh never mind I was trying to get you to describe the ritual yes. If you do it will work better same with most other things. Be creative and things go better for you.

Neverwonagame 3

Hakara begins to make undead and the ritual succeded. He manages to raise an orc as a zombie. He feels mildly drained by this and he thinks he can manage two more rituals.

Is it too late for me to make up the ritual?

You can make it up now and that will become the ritual you use to create zombies from now on.

My Idea for the Ritual:
Hakara went into a trance. In his mind lightning bolts struck in the sky (once he was sufficently powerful, real storms and lightning would appear as a side-effect). His lust for power altered the ritual and focused his mind.

"ARISE!" he cried.

General Instructions for Hakara:
Hakara will ressurect two more undead, then hide and rest. He will continue going around the village practicing his illusions and various ways, in order to get better at it for the future.

He will also practice divination on matters irrelevant to him (so as to have less of a burden in knowing them).

Hmmmm... Intersting but that ritual how would it reduce the energy cost if anything summoning a storm would make the ritual harder to perform, I will modify it to make sense.

It was a stormy night perfect for what Hakara had in mind. He sat crosslegged in the pentagram with the corpse in front of him. He slipped into a trance and saw the storm watched it grow stronger. He gathered energy from it the vast power of lighting and he canneled it used it to start the orc's brain. He then shaped the lighting into life-force for the creature a weak, twisted mockery of life but it worked. The creature had only its hind brain working everything else was still dead. By definition it should be dead as well but the new life-force allowed it to live. Hakara took control of its mind. Now it was ready to do his bidding.

This more what you had in mind NWAG?

I don't think Hakara has the power to actually summon storms, but my original intention was that it would happen as a side-effect when he was strong enough. I'll go with that, though it wasn't my original intention.

The point of a ritual is to channel energy and either focus your mind so much no energy is wasted or to draw on an extural source. So in a ritual it would be almost impossible for storms to appear unless that was the intention or the ritual had gone wrong as that would waste energy. I am sorry NWAG but magic has rules and you have to stick to them. You could just cut out the bit about storms appearing and say the thought of all that power helps him focus and find resevses of energy he did not know existed inside him but that would be more draining than the ritual I described. It would have the advantage of being almost undetectable though.
