Hi guys....After lookin around here, i am now quite sure my video card wont support Civ IV, due to T&L.:mad: Anyway, im curious if my video card is removable in my computer, so i know if i should even bother buying a new video card.

If my video card is removable, if sum1 cud suggest a good priced video card that will support my civ 4 needs:D , and where i could buy one.

Thx

need to know if your system is laptop or PC. some laptops can, not most on your own
pc's can, you need to know if you have PCI, AGP, or PCIx. even if your graphics is *shudders* integrated, you can install a card and it will use that instead, freeing the *shared* memory.

let us know

My answer to your first question is that I have a three year old Dell PC. Ok, i dont know what you mean by PCI, AGP, or PCIx. I know very little about computers, so if you could tell me how figure out which one it is, id be very grateful:D

Its probably AGP. You can check the invoice you have and look at your motherboard type; It will say '8X AGP' or something similar.

If you post your motherboard chipset, someone could help you find it very easy.

My guess is that it's 8x AGP.

Sry....but...um....im useless with computers. I know pretty much nothin. When i go to control panel (thats the only place i know that i can find this kind of info), neither my graphics card info (Intel Extreme Graphics, or sumthin like that) or my "system" info has anythin to do with a motherboard or any AGP, PCI, or anythin like that. Im confused.

Im clueless:confused: im young:mischief: and a complete idiot....:crazyeye:

Help Please!

You may want to wait a few more days until next week's patch..and see if it helps your situation without having to replace hardware.

Otherwise, if you are not that knowledgable and can afford to have someone install the card for you, most places that sell them provide that service. (Best Buy, CompUSA, etc.)

Or you can go to a bookstore and pick up a "Dummy's Guide" on PC Hardware and learn how to do it yourself. (Not calling you a dummy...that is the name of the series of books)
