DUBLIN - Human embryos have been created in Britain without using sperm for the first time.

The "virgin conception" embryos, which mark a new way to grow a woman's cells and tissues for a vast range of treatments, were revealed by an Edinburgh team.

This has been well-known as a possibility for a long time. Parthenogenesis can only result in female embryos with Turner's Syndrome*, however, so any religious theories on the practice can be put to rest preemptively.


*Turner's Syndrome is genetic disorder caused by only having one sex chromosome. It only occurs in women as embryos without an X chromosome cannot develop. The primary symptoms are extremely short stature, a webbed neck and infertility.
 
Bees do it all the time :crazyeye:. All of the drones are actualy female bees with only an X chromosome.
