Hi gents, 1st gotta say, BEST FRIGGIN MOD OF ALL TIME!!! Without your guys mod, well, Civ4 might just be takin up shelf space. But with it, me and my buddies play multiplayer Lan games as much as we can. Love the damn units, techs, everything you have added to make this game great.

My question is, Is there a way to turn off the new gentic era part? We really like playing up till modern units but don't want any of that sci-fi stuff.

Also is there going to be a change to the way airplanes fight? I thought I saw somewhere aircombat was changing but I couldn't find it again.

Any chance of making a patrol option for ships and planes? Perhaps where they fly the same recon route every turn? One of our favorite games Empire had this feature and it rocked.

Thanks again for making CIV worth playing. You guys are the bomb!!!

the genetic era wont be turned off, but not to worry!

I was wondering if ViSa 3.0 is going to have this game speed setting, as it makes the pacing very realistic (thus the name).

On my current Total Realism save, I'm almost on turn 500, and I'm just entering the 15th century. With this speed setting, buildings don't take nearly as long to create as they do on Marathon XL (or whatever it's called, though I'll continue to call it this, as I can't be bothered to load up my Amra mod at the moment), nor do workers take 20 fricking turns to build a farm.

All Marathon XL does is elongate the game literally by putting it in slow motion. There are more turns, sure (Realistic speed has unlimited), but the extra time you get is nothing short of a gimmick, since all of that supposed "extra" time is used up by buildings and improvements that take way too long to build. So, with Marathon XL, just as with the default Civ IV game speeds, you can never really play around in ancient times. Before you have any sort of real infrastructure, it's already 1 AD, and you still haven't researched many technologies (I play on Noble, by the way).

You can probably see what I'm getting at, here. I mean, when the Masjid al-Haram is built in 1720 A.D., it comes to me as a huge turn-off. But, it's yet to happen that way on Total Realism with the Realistic game speed, as said building is usually built around 1150 A.D., and Islam is founded at around 600 A.D., to boot.

The question is simple: Will ViSa 3.0 have the unbelievably well-balanced Realistic game speed as an option, or is it the sole property (I don't know how it could be) of the Total Realism mod team?

Please post in threads I have started, thanks.

I anticipate ViSa Expansion Pack 3 stuff to be in the main Modpacks post, which will be up tonight or early Saturday...or in General Discussions

Not sure how you can ask for something to be turned off when you have never seen it....

I am not being a smart a$$ but lets save the questions for once you actually see it :)

Never played any length of game of TR and not worried about their 'problems' :lol: . As I said above, lets wait until you actually play the ViSa Expansion Pack 3.

Heh, have no worries. I'll definitely try it out, and I bet I'll love it.

@noid
Have patience my friend, it isn't the same time every where on the world. I mean in eastern Siberia it's still friday. And in Florida (where TA is from) it is about 7 o'clock in the morning, right?.

This release better not be an April Fool's Joke!;)
