Hi, I have just got Windows Vista and when I installed civ4 on my PC it came up with a popup saying there are known compatibility issues with vista and that I need to d/l a patch. But when I looked for patches none were obviously vista compatibility so now I'm seriously confused. Could someone possibly send me a link to the patch because none of the ones I've seen sound like the rights one.

You might need to download something for Vista? I'm not sure, I have Vista and Civ runs just fine.

Make sure you have all the windows updates. A patch was included in there someplace quite a while back.

You also need to have all the current CIV patches, so why don't you just download the patch it tells you that you need.

BTS has most of the fixes in it for vista issues.
You need to have the latest patches for Civ $ and Warlords if you have it.

I got that error when running in native Vista mode. When running in W2K compatible mode I got passed that. Now on my Vista sp1 and fully patched CIV I constantly get disc not found errors.

My experience is that it either
a/ has something to do with the Safedisc secdrv.sys file/system and CIV IV compatibility or
b/ has something to do with sp1 breaking compatibility or
c/ both
Just a suspicion though. Because there is a unofficial "patch" of sorts that actually solves the problem. But of course a better way of solving the problem is an official route. Not quite sure where it is though.

I'm runnig BTS on A Dell Vista machine.

I had problems with Civ 4 and Warlords, but BTS fixed our issues.

Make sure to load all the patches for Civ 4 prior to loading BTS.:) :) :)
