I'm gonna go with my own country, Canada. Many of the things on that list I've never heard of before, and corn on the cob burns my teeth, so I'm going with Canada with Italy being a close second.

I'd vote for India if it were on the list...

But of the choices available it is a tough choice between America and Ireland. Since I can't imagine America and Best National Meal in the same sentence, I voted for Ireland.

Canada for breakfast, Italy for lunch, America for dinner, and Mexico for a snack.

Now this guy know how da eat!:goodjob:

Canada No contest. Bacon, and pancakes..
Are you guys from Canada or somewhere else? I'm interested to know because I'd like to know how popular our national dish is around the world.

Quoted for sarcastic truth.

What happened to linguine alla vongole, or osso bucco, or even lasagna for that matter?
As we speak, Italian Chefs are visiting dangerous men on their daughters wedding day.

I'm from the American East Mid-Atlantic region.

I eat bacon almost everyday, and I love maple syrup.

I was born in Poland and live in south-western Ontario.

Since when are pancakes our national dish?

Pah. Pizza as we know it today is far more an Italian-American tradition than an Italian one. By not including the diverse pasta dishes for Italy, you fail at life.

I understand why France is not in the list. You wanted to let a fair chance to the other country to win.
My God, youre right! Ireland is on the list, but not France! But Im sure you wouldnt want French cuisine reduced to 'mushrooms and frogs legs'.

LOL Steph ;-)

I would answer all ! Diversity is essential in food.
But if I had too chose I would let my childhood express a immediate irrational need for a T-Bone steak, corn on the cob and fries RIGHT-NOW. :)

Ohh, shoot! France was supposed to be on the list. I left it off by mistake. :wallbash: Sorry.

Edit: France's nomination was Boeuf Bourguignon BTW.
