Balkans: Bureks and Chevapi.

Its a toughie, since Brazil isn't on there, and Mexico and Italy don't have their real food on the list.

I do love a good t-bone, but I'm not much of a fan for Corn. I'll go with Japan. Sushi is teh awesome.

Canada for breakfast. Mexico for Lunch. America for dinner. New Zealand for a late night snack.

Well, I don't know about these choices of national meals but, in general, China has the best cuisine.

that list is BS. Canada's national meal is Poutine

That is BS. Poutine is in no way the national meal of western Canada. BC has salmon. Alberta has steak. Not poutine.

WTH is poutine? Sounds like pootang.

Fries covered in gravy and cheese curds

Freekin Russian Borscz is really good!

Swedish meatballs are good but not even close to Russian Borscz, and it is childplay to make.

From Poland I would pick White Barscz with white kielbasa or maybe Polish red barscz with mushroom filled uszka (similar to tortellini), I always order that in a restaurant when i visit.

This poll blows.

No Indian and New Zealand get our national dish, fish and chips. How do you work that out?

Yeah, I didnt vote because of this foolishness. Not that I would have voted for either, but I lost all faith in the poll as a whole after overcomming my outrage at the Fish and Chips debacle only to discover the whole sub-contenent was excluded.

Humbug!

I must protest that the meal that most embodied the spirit of chinese elaborate cuisine is the Complete Feast of Qing And Han. with 108 dishes from main dish to desserts and required 3 days of feasting.

U.S., with Japan a close second.

Korea and South Africa (the braai, not listed) are runners up.

Well yeah but how many Chinese even get to eat that even just once in their lifetime? :ack: National dish in the spirit of this thread refers to something that the everyday Joe eats almost everyday. Not the fancy high end stuff.
